White Weenies in Standard
Standard forum

Just wanted to know if people thought this could be a thing in upcoming standard? And if so, if some of us could put together some lists and compare em. Seems like we've got some awesome cards and would like to see if it's viable.

White Weenies will likely be outshadowed by B/W Warrior decks, since they have a lot better options and more overall support.
Still, if you want white weenies to be a thing, check out the new Anafenza. She could do some good work in a weenie deck.

Well, i've seen black/white warriors in action for a few weeks now. Three different people like the deck at my local game shop. And while it can be fast, it's also got a terrible mana base.
Adding consistency and being allowed to play less lands allows for a few more combat tricks as well as a better curve, I think. Would be interesting to see.

I think mono-white or white with a light splash aggro is definitely viable. Maybe not tier 1 but 2 is possible.

I put a quick list together that I've been having fun with on cockatrice.
- 3 Return to the Ranks
- 4 Soldier of the Pantheon
- 4 Favored Hoplite
- 4 Gods Willing
- 22 Plains
- 1 Dictate of Heliod
- 2 Ainok Bond-Kin
- 2 Abzan Falconer
- 4 Seeker of the Way
- 3 Sandsteppe Outcast
- 4 Anafenza, Spirit of the Family Tree
- 2 Feat of Resistance
- 2 Hidden Dragonslayer
SB: 2 Spirit of the Labyrinth
- SB: 2 Mortal's Ardor
- SB: 2 Ordeal of Heliod
- SB: 2 Brimaz, King of Oreskos
- SB: 2 Citadel Siege
- SB: 2 Abzan Advantage
- SB: 2 Valorous Stance
- SB: 1 Return to the Ranks
I think that ultimately this fails against things like BW Warriors or basically any deck splashing another color, but it's been fine. This list I put together focuses on getting counters on creatures and then makes use of the abzan "lords." Additionally, I made sure most of the creatures were 2 power or less so that I could try out Return to the Ranks as a means of getting past Drown in Sorrow (yes Anger of the Gods is still a bit of a silver bullet). I know Raise the Alarm doesn't synergize with the new Anafenza, but being able to flash in some dudes after a drown to convoke out the ranks is nice.

Spootyone have you checked out some of the new white 2-3 drops in DTK? Also, that kithkin dude from m15 that cheats soldiers into play could be relevant if the deck was built right.

Yeah, I originally had Preeminent Captain in here, but found him not synergizing with the deck as a whole.
As for the other white creatures in DTK, most of them seem to synergize more with Warriors, of which there aren't many in the build, and the others are mostly 3-drops, which this deck already has a decent amount of.

Anafenza, Kin-Tree Familar, Hidden Dragonslayer, Soldier of the Panth, Monastery Mentor, Arashin Foremost, Citadel Siege?, Mastery of the Unseen?, Mardu Woe Reaper, Valorous Stance?
Just naming a few of the new stuff, seems like we've got some awesome things to work with.
