Standard seems super different know, the red decks seem to be everywhere out of nowhere. I was listening to this podcast and thought it was interesting. http://www.flipsidegaming.com/pages/the-mindcrank-podcast

Standard changes all the time. A new set was just released. How is this a question?

That's what it does.

RDW wins GP or whatever and then 1k people build that exact deck list. It's the way things go.

I'm stupid. How do you listen to it.

Red Deck Wins (RDW) is a perpetual archetype which waxes and wanes. It is almost always possible to construct a good RDW in Standard. It is always possible to sideboard hate against RDW. Thus, once Standard gets set fighting all of the non-RDW archetypes, RDW comes back, catches people with their pants down, and wins for a little while. Then it gets hated out. This is a regular cycle.

Miss the days when people did not copy each other so much.

alanwescoatRDW will always be around because it's the cheapest to build majority of the time and is competitive. driddic got what I was going for with my comment.

I wish I had the money to play competitive standard with the new block structure. With so many sets rotating out at once it's going to be a whole new standard environment. I'll just stick with modern and listen to people complain about card spikes and buyouts. It's funny and I don't have to chase the newest rares that will drop towards rotation (Brimaz, King of Oreskos as an example).

Complaining about netdecks is like complaining about the weather. Sure you can do it, but it's not gonna stop it.

Standard is just crazy right now with having 8 sets legal. Wait until BoZ and everything will be back to normal.

Idk, I'm new to fnm events and am living off origin cards and trades. It's been pretty fun.

addaff with the new block structure only 33% of the card pool will rotate as opposed to 50% in the past. I think this will make it easier to maintain a deck through rotation and need to acquire less cards all at once. Something to monitor moving forward if you're interested in playing some Standard.

It won the Pro-Tour. Also, RDW is always there. It's just more popular at the moment. Theros/Tarkir meta favored slower decks but Origins has shaken things up by making some faster ones.

It's rather troublesome for me. RDW is by far my worst matchup. I'm just hoping that people will get tired of it soon so I don't face it too often.
