Why do so many mono red aggro decks run 4 eidolon of the great revel? Surely it would just do more damage to them than the opponent???
There should be a sticky thread explaining why Eidolon is so strong. Man, does it come up all the time.
Speaking of which... I wonder if people used to ask the same question about Dark Confidant back in the day? Bob also seems like a weak creature that hurts you more than the opponent, until you start understanding the game better. Then you go "whoa, cards!"

Honestly I can understand why people ask this in standard eidolon is MUCH less relevant in standard then modern but still it is pretty good nonetheless

Burn's back so he's actually more important for the next couple weeks before he rotates out. Most people have just now started to do without them this weekend since he's leaving.

I won't miss this, assuming my deck survives rotation. It demolishes aggro decks like mine.

Link all cards in your posts: Eidolon of the Great Revel.
This question is asked at least once every week or two- try doing some searches before asking questions that involve top-tier deck choices.
Eidolon is strong because it's a Wild Slash for most spells your opponent casts. When that's added to the burn you're already getting through, you end up doing more damage than your opponent. RDW is all about racing your opponent, and the 2 damage just speeds up that process. Against aggro decks and some control decks, that adds up to a lot of damage.
