There is lots of choices for creatures and removal

Because it's weak to Fire Flying and Rock, type that are used frequently in tournament. Nvm too much Pokemon...

Had to do it.

And 'Fire' obviously means RDW.

Out of 2 FNM ive placed 3rd twice as BUG. I honestly think it can be a solid deck, you just need the right combos. I've taken out scry lands to swap in basics with 12 shocks and it still curves out fine most the time. I run Sylvan Caryatids and Nightveil Spectres for land mana ramping. It tends to work out better than I expected. I also run far/aways, simic charms, and golgari charms mainboard for ways to counter spells against my creatures. Or against theres if I have to. Good way to keep my creatures alive and/or make them have to replay theirs. Those cards have so much utility that it slows down aggro at least enough to where its sustainable. RDW can be tough to beat for many midrange and control decks.

I don't see how it could be inconsistent, are you only allowed to run 1 of each card in bug decks, what are you on about?

I used to run a BuG Aggro deck, always finished top 8 with it.

I was just asking around because I have lost so many tournaments from bad play errors that I get discouraged sometimes. lol most of the time I just make mono color decks just to make it easy to understand. @Tristonlee21 I never thought about how good Simic Charm can be and I do agree that Far / Away is a must in this kind of deck.

BUG doesn't have access to the crucial boardwipes in red or white (i.e. Supreme Verdict and Anger of the Gods ). It also runs into lifegain and card drawing power that would come from Sphinx's Revelation .

I say all of this because BUG is a very control-oriented color combination. Blue doesn't have the best creatures for a midrange or aggro strategy, which means black and green have to pull all of the weight if you go either of those routes.

BUG Aggro was a really good deck before Innistrad cycled out because of the synergy between evolve and undying, but lost a lot of the deck when Young Wolf and Strangleroot Geist cycled out.
