Slaughter Games in all playtests ive ever done on cocatrice or the few FNM i ever went ive pretty much never seen someones mainboard it. Exception to this are my decks at a point- a deck that ran it as a single together with Chandra, the Firebrand and card:Rakdos's Return due to her -2comb. and some random deck but was named wrong(Snapcaster Mage due to me only hadding played blue mana so far Dissipate wouldve bin better).

i see this card work agains many decks. ofc not all but realy if evry card in a deck would never be dead so to say you pretty much have the perfect deck anyhow.

Because you have to see their deck first, if you run it in the mainboard, you're kinda just sitting on your ass if you have it in your hand because you don't know what cards they have or how many of said card they have.

Though you will be able to make some really good guesses from time to time with Slaughter Games in Game 1, it's better to start with a card that you know will have a useful and proactive effect regardless of the matchup. It's very possible that the threats and answers in your opponents deck are spread wide enough and are redundant enough that losing one or two of the options won't do anything to hurt them. If instead you see that there are 1-2 key cards that your opponent's deck absolutely relies on, then for Game 2 you can bring in Slaughter Games to attack them from that angle.
