Will Jund Hydra be a thing?

With cards like Kalonian Hydra , Corpsejack Menace , Experiment One , and Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch will there be a Jund Hydra (counters) deck in standard?

As much as I would love it to be, a deck with combos that are all creature based get wrecked by control. I'm working on a Simic-ish deck with Kalonian Hydra , and I'm scared shitless by Supreme Verdict .

Not now, since better threats are legal (Falkenrath Aristocrat , Hellrider , Thundermaw Hellkite ), but after rotation I could definitely see it happening.

If there is Corpsejack Menace won't be a part of it. To much competition in the 4 drop spot even post rotation. Supreme Verdict is definately an issue, but Jund has access to Golgari Charm which may help. Also Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch ensures you at least get one swing with the hydra before a Supreme Verdict assuming control decks don't start running Quicken .

Good point, I didn't think of Golgari Charm . But yeah, Corpsejack in general is a "win more" card. Throw in an Elvish Mystic , and on turn 4 (with a good land base), you're swinging with an 8/8 trampler, a 5/5 first striker and if Experiment One was your turn one play, a 5/5 regeneratable creature.

And Ogre Battledriver might actually be my haste-giver of choice, as in IAmKingTony's deck. Makes 3 colors unnecessary, which could be vital with the loss of our beloved checklands. Then again, by the time we have a rotation, Theros duals should be out and about
