Will the Souls stop Lingering?

Standard forum

When Lingering Souls is gone, token decks will take a pretty hard hit. Do you think there will be something to take it's place? I can't find anything that's nearly as efficient for post-rotation. How do you feel about post rotation tokens and what do you expect Theros to bring us?

Also, any advice on my new token deck would be awesome. Check it out and let me know what you think. :P

Moved to Standard. I would put it in Deck Help, but the primary focus of this thread seems to be Standard as a whole.

nothing i know of, but the new elspeth, while a later game card, can make a lot of tokens quite efficiently and then give them +2/+2 and flying, the new token deck finisher.

Thanks, Epochalyptik. Maybe I'll be able to pick the right forum place someday. xP

yeah, the new Elspeth does drop a lot of tokens.I like her second ability, mainly because most common tokens are 3/3 or less, so she keeps Selesnya pretty safe.

The RTR block has a bunch of really great token makers - Call of the Conclave , Advent of the Wurm , etc, they've just been overshadowed by superior cards from the Innistrad block. None of them are on Lingering Souls level, but few cards are.

Molten Birth or Young Pyromancer seem pretty good for fodder tokens on the quality of Aristocrats, but a different color scheme entirely. Very funny with Battle Hymn and Hellrider and the likes, for pre-rotation fun.
