Is five color mid-range viable in standard right now? If so how would you go about building it? I'm looking for a deck to return to standard right now and would love to be able to do so using the entire color spectrum. I should also mention I'm only looking to play at the fnm level.

  • What is the budget?
  • Is there any particular goal that the deck must fulfill (tokens, fatties, early control and finisehrs)?
  • How do you feel about including planeswalkers?
  • How do you feel about playing 4 Chromanticore , since that is the only reason to go five colors IMO?

You can do it. The only thing is that it would be pretty pricey and probably unable to compete with more serious decks. You'd need to invest in some serious fixing.

4 caryatid, 4 courser, lots of fetches, urborg, maybe some scry lands if there is room? Then you play walkers and win (specifically Kiora, Lilliana, Sorin, Chandra and Big G. Also maybe Xenagos and some version of Ajani)

I think a morph setup with Trail of mystery as your fixer and allows you to play a heap of different morph cards

I had a similar idea and this is the result:

I tried to stick with the haste theme but there are other options available like Siege Rhino or Chromanticore

Bestow Chromanticore onto an animated Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker .

Sure, the bestow will fall off at EOT, but you'll be able to say you did it!

Boza No budget, I already know it's going to be pretty expensive to build and that it won't be hyper competitive. I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted the deck to do but I had completely forgotten about Chromanticore .

meecht that is now my goal :D
