+1 Etiquette

I've noticed on a couple of decks that I've posted that people say "+1!" in a comment and then don't +1 the deck. I'm fairly new to this website so I'm not sure about the etiquette of +1ing. Is that a usual thing to do, or are they just not aware that I'm an upgraded user and can see who +1ed my deck? Even if I wasn't upgraded I would see the deck's score go up.

Sometimes they forget or the vote doesn't actually go through. Upvotes don't mean anything, though, so it isn't really a big deal.

People forget. It's no no big deal. A lot of the deck scores on this site are really stupid anyway bexause there's a general attitude of upvoting flavourful decks more than good decks.

I've done it before without meaning to. I say it's totally acceptable to remind a person if they say +1 but don't do it. I've been reminded before and it bothered me zero - I was actually glad that they mentioned something because I had every intention to +1.

But I agree with ChiefBell that the +1's get a little nonsensical sometimes so I wouldn't take it overly seriously. Furthermore, the deckbuilder doesn't even show a lot of peoples' decks so it really, really doesn't matter - like - at all - in that case.

Seems pretty arrogant to come right out and say "Your +1 is invalid because -I've- decided the deck you like isn't good enough."

I'd be happy to see where the site rules say "You should only +1 a deck if you think that deck is of competitive quality" and not the actual reality of "If you think the deck is cool for any reason at all, this is a way you can express that."

Of course, someone will come along and post that Who's Line .jpg about how the points don't matter, but you can't possibly have a ranking system without all the Spikey people getting all butthurt that their barely different copy of a netdecked copy of a pro's deck isn't the highest ranked on the site because it's so awesome.

When an unlimited number of people can give an unlimited number of votes to an unlimited number of decks, the entire score feature is completely useless. You should treat it as such.
