TappedOut forum

Let's make TappedOut a more helpful and informative place.

"How, zandl? Just how may we do that, you propose?"

Well, for starters, let's make deck-cycling more valuable: I propose that you make a sincere and thought-out comment on three separate front-page decks once a day, whenever you're online.

Thoughts?

I probably make about 15 a day already haha. Sometimes I go a week with no comments on my own, though, so I'm all for it.

I like it.

Actually, the Community Discussion threads are my way of getting people more active in the forums (and of having something to read when there are no Q&A threads to handle).

I definitely do that on decks that I can offer something to, or at least say "Cool deck!" +1

I would like more love for the decks I cycle, though... That's part of why one deck cycles, to hear critique, opinions, and such. Up votes help the ego a bit, too :-)

I like the idea of helping people a lot. How do you suppose tappedout implements this? Also, there is this idea from another site and it has a place called: my deck is lonely (or something like that). Somebody puts in a deck that they have been trying to make popular or get help for awhile, and it isn't getting attention. you put it into the lonely deck area and there are people who monitor the area and just help peoples decks. Perhaps add that and make it a chore that people actually have to comment in there. Also, if a deck has "x" amount of comments, then it can't be put into the lonely deck area. The point is that people should help other tappedouters and adding a "lonely deck" area would help people help other people.

Yes? No?

I don't think it needs "implementing", per se. It's just something people should keep in mind.

Or, maybe, you'd earn another deckcycling token if you commented on X front-page decks, though that would probably be hard to program and would suck.

@Droxium: That's basically the purpose of the Deck Help forum.

@zandl: I don't really like incentivizing stuff like that because it's easy to spam for free rewards.

That's why I think it would suck.

I initially liked the idea, then instantly thought of ways in which others would abuse it.

Yeah. It's a shame. I'd like to reward active/helpful users, but we need to put a lot of time/effort into devising and implementing checks.

For example, users can farm good card suggestions, ratings, and posts pretty easily with a second account.

Card fixes might be a workable statistic. It would incentivize helping out with the DB, but it might also lead to people rushing and making errors in an attempt to claim a reward.
