Ok, im not in any way involved in Tappedout, im just curious as i work as a developer. this thread came up and its actually a pretty big problem for the guys behind Tappedout. Today the majority uses adblock, but many disables it for sites they think deserve the income. Unless these sites has advertising that are too distracting..
Let me know, are You using adblock? Are you disabling sites who keeps advertising clean? Are you disabling Tappedout? What do you think of the advertising on Tappedout?
Whether I disable/enable it, the advertising is completely fine for me. I never had any issues with the advertising here on the site. I usually have it enabled.

I had it on until 'Go pointed out to me that it affects the income from the ads. Never really thought of it. It was off for a while, but then I started experiencing massive increases in load time and turned it back on.
I try to keep it off as much as possible, but if my use of the site is inhibited, then it comes on.

Never used it before, but the site is harder to load these days. So I might step over to the other side. At some point the anger takes over from the fun and that aint happening sir!

Had it on for quite a while, but I couldn't justify coming here several times a day and not at least help paying for the server costs, so I turned it off.
Honestly, I don't mind ads, as long as they're silent and not flashy. I pretty much ignore them (yeaGO, do you get paid per view or per click?).

its all more or less per view, although if I have a direct sponsor I am sure that they like clicks :) such as hex ads, lately.
May 31, 2016 6:38 p.m.
yeaGO who is this direct sponsor? If you have a company like ChannelFrieball sponsoring by commission you should let users know this, they might buy from them just because they want to support the site.

I think if there are ads they should at least be related to MTG; I.e. Deck Gear & other merchandise like clothes, Card sites like Starcity/TCG/Facetofacegames/etc that people will actually visit... Also video clips are bad. I usually have to reload the page when I encounter one.
I don't run an adblock that I know of (chrome browser on both mobile and PC), not that tech savvy to know if its built in or not. Likely not as, well, I see ads.

Personally, I would love to disable adblock. But since my computer is detected as being in a French location (and I'm guessing the ads aren't tailored to in french), I keep getting stupid clickbaits ads ("This women is 53 and looks like 26. Doctors hate her!") and thus cannot disable it if I don't want to be harassed by stupid stuff. Should the clickbaits ads be destroyed and only ads related to MTG and other games (Hex, whathever browser game) remained, then I would disable adblock on the spot.
(Am I right on my point, yeaGO? That ads aren't tailored for other languages?)

I keep adblock enabled at all times on my laptop, but not my phone. Since I use the site a lot more from my phone, I like to think it balances out.

GoldGhost012 not much, mobile ads don't really pay that well and there aren't that many on the site :P
Volvary that's strange. your browser language set to french by chance? but yes, in some cases i guess you would get euro ads.
Monsmtg try again, it should load just fine. we have been changing lots of things.
smackjack currently its a related card game called Hex.
Adblock is fine ya'll but definitely consider just becoming a supporter of the site! It will block ads on all of your devices and T/O will continue to rock.

yeaGO My browser is in english but I think somewhere down the line my browser picked up where I lived and I've been receiving targetted ads ever since. (I'm in Quebec)
June 1, 2016 1:44 p.m.
Oh, yeah I think that's pretty normal. Location targeting is a thing. I live in San Francisco these days and I actually get a lot of ads in Mandarin!
Also, fun fact. Even if you don't click on the ads they do make the site revenue because, in general, advertisers are increasingly looking at the % of a userbase who is adblocking. Also, some ads, such as the Bernie and Hillary ads we're seeing here in the US, are actually impression based campaigns that really don't care if you click or not.

I've never had any form of invasive advertising on tappedout in all my use of it. I've used it on multiple laptops from home, the laptops at the shop, and I check regularly from my desktop at work (like I am right now) and have had zero problems as far as oppressive advertising.
I don't know if the site is actually corruptible, as I have been using the same strong security of ESET and Malwarebytes for the last couple years and maybe they're holding them back. But yeah. For what it's worth I've never had a problem here.

So I'll admit that I've been using Adblock on this site up until just recently, and turning it off hasn't really been much of an issue. I do have one question though, when I've got Adblock on, at the top of the page next to the TappedOut logo, the featured decks cycle through, but when I've got it off, an ad takes its place. Is this intentional?

Not using ad block. Advertising on tapped out is fine with me.
