Advertisements Ruining TappedOut Experience

TappedOut forum

Recently I turned off my adblocker. I've found surfing around on the site is essentially unbearable because of the ads.

Pretty certain there's no problems on my end. Fast internet speeds and a blazing fast computer.

My browser seems to keep loading the page every 5-10 seconds. And the page gets choppy and stalls periodically. The only reason I see it doing this is because of flash ads or something.

Do others have this problem or is there something I can do to help this? It truly is so bad the website is unbearable at times. Ty!

I don't use this site on a desktop with out AdBlock because of how terrible they are and how it affects loading times. On mobile it's fine with or without.

I find the ads are actually causing scripts to crash and lock up my browser (firefox) which is a major pain.

Thanks for the post. How recently did you turn off adblock? Did you happen to notice any creatives or brands in the ads?

Simon_Williamson we tinker often. You should check back periodically.

I turned adblock off a long time ago but in the past few days I've noticed that pages are taking an abnormally long time to load - I tried clearly cache/cookies assuming that that was the problem but that wasn't it. I have a particular problem with the notifications drop-down but all the pages are slow to load.

I tried re-enabling adblock and that makes the site much much faster, so I think it is the ads that is the problem.

yeah i have noticed notifications modal doesn't populate sometimes immediately. i'm looking into what might be slowing things down. HairyManBack i am also interested in a response to my questions above :P

please consider just getting the supporter upgrade, as you can block ads on all devices with that.
