Archived Decks

In the Deck Editor there is a checkbox that says "Is archived - Hide from most places". What exactly does this do? I'd rather not try it on one of my decks and have it disappear completely. Thanks in advance.

This has been asked before, and the general idea was it was implemented when the site was first created, but is now archaic, outdated, and its exact function unknown.

Your deck will not disappear, however, if you do use it.
