Besieged prerelease - sealed practice

  • Will Besieged be available for sealed testing prior to the prerelease next weekend?
  • Bonus question: will we be able to select Phyrexian vs. Mirran packs from Besieged in the Sealed drop-down options? I realize this probably would add a lot of complexity, but it would also be REALLY great.

Typically the full set gets disclosed right before the prerelase... in the past they have been able to load in all the cards so that people can practice draft / sealed options as soon as that happens, since they get a lot of the data entered as the cards are spoiled.

I dunno if they will be able to do mirran and phyrexian packs.. as that is something new that has never been a part of the exprience.. not sure if there is even a mechanism in place that could handle something like that.

Everything can be handled. =D

I haven't really heard about that, though. Can someone catch me up on what's necessary?

At sealed events, Players get 3 packs of scars and 3 packs of either mirran cards or phyrexian cards.

So you'd have to split all the mirran cards into one catagory and all the phyrexian cards into another catagory, with each faction being an option for a pack (so say you could create a sealed with (3 SOM, 3 MBP) or (3SOM, 3MBM), where MBP is all the phyrexian cards and MBM would be mirran cards. Then make MBS an option where all the cards are possible, like they will be after pre-releases.

Yeah, the easiest way to do it, if you choose to, probably is just to load it up as three separate sets, labelled MBM, MBP and MBS like Leafs_suck suggested.

All Hail New Phyrexia! ...I wonder what side I should choose?

has anyone heard definitively whether Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas will be available in prerelease packs? I've heard alternately that he won't be in either Mirran or Phyrexian packs, since he doesn't have a faction watermark, or that he may show up in either.

I'm pretty sure he'll be able to be picked in both. It would be pretty epic lame if you couldn't pull the set's only Walker in a limited event.

turns out you're right. in MaRo's column today he says explicitly that Tezz will be available to both factions in the prerelease.

groovy.

Furthermore, at the prerelease events this weekend, at least the ones near me, you get the 3 faction packs and 3 MBS packs. At least, that is how my FLGS is doing the Pre-release.

Yea I visted my shop today and he said he thought it was 3 MBS and then 3 of our choice, so I guess we'll see.

I think a straight MBS/MBP or MBS/MBM would pretty dangerous. Fun but interestingly dangerous as that would be nearly all Phyrexian compared to a SoM/MBP or SoM/MBM set up.

What I've heard and read is that it will be three SOM, and then three of either MBP or MBM. That's only for the pre-release, I think.

It seems like some places are doing SOM/MB[faction] and some places are doing MBS/MB[faction]. I don't know if this is officially how they're supposed to be doing it...but hey, if it gets me more Besieged cards, I'm fine with it. =p

Please do what leafs_suck suggested with splitting up the mirran cards and phyrexian cards. The pre-release is this weekend and it'd be cool having an unfair advantage as this is my 2nd pre-release ever :3

When are we getting Besieged to draft with? Just the normal set?
