Can we break the competitive meter?

There's a lot of speculation on how the competitive meter here actually works, and I personally haven't seen a definite explanation. I believe it's self-selecting: if a card is in enough decks marked as Competitive, the meter treats that card as competitive. Here's an idea to test this.
-
Pick a non-competitive card. I suggest Fugitive Wizard--basic and weak, but not meme-y enough to go into a joke deck.
-
A lot of people create decks with Fugitive Wizard and mark them as Competitive.
-
Create a deck of nothing but Fugitive Wizard and Island and see how competitive the meter says it is.
Alternatively, if someone does know how the meter works, please post it here.
Gidgetimer Noted, thanks for the tip. I think non-foil's the way to go.

I panicked a little, thinking you were going to do this with Curio Vendor from my antique shop. I don’t want people to know how competitive it really is lol

foil / non foil shouldn't impact anything.... let me know if that's really still the case
good luck for the rest :)

legendofa Sorry, broken in the sense that the competitive meter doesn't accurately reflect anything...

Last_Laugh Yeah, I got you. I'm just curious on how the algorithm works. Sorry for being unclear.

For starters: I really like the fact that someone put the time and effort into building it. I think there is a lot of interest in coming up with scales of measures for decks. Super interesting. Next: with 100 cards, and a 57% competitive rating (assuming no one has edited/contributed to the bar) it looks to me as though the cards in my Antique Shop deck could be given a binary “competitive? Y/N” setting... and that there are maybe seven cards in my deck that have that flag. Mind Stone and the like would probably make sense... while Apocalypse Chime does not. Contributions from readers would modify the measure some, and I think that’s where the strength in the measure really resides. I think WE may accidentally be the problem in this case ;p

FormOverFunction I think that basic lands are universally Competitive, so if I'm right, there's a big stack of Competitiveness for your Antique Shop deck.
I like that there's a metric. I don't like that I have no idea how it works. And the surprise guest appearance by the Great Host yeaGO is both encouraging and cryptic.

I built a "Jeska, Thrice Reborn" and "Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder" deck and also don't think the competetive meter seems to be right.
I thought it was a fun partner combo to build and I lost every game against my friend after just building it. I got home and entered it into Tappedout, and playtested a little bit.
Realized I played it wrong at my friends place because Bruse deals 18-24 command damage by Turn 5 or so.
Still, the competetive meter is at 30%.

I'm not sure if it is still the case, but changing a printing from foil to non-foil would change the competitive meter. You might need to specify a printing between Fugitive Wizard and Fugitive Wizard
to make sure you are concentrating your manipulation of the system.
