Can't update my deck
TappedOut forum

I've been having this problem all day, whenever I try to update my deck there's a large chance it either ignores my change, only partially changes the deck or just reverts to an older change.
Maybe I was updating my deck too often and the site got confused, but eventually it saved the changes I wanted. I haven't built any decks since.

It's still taking a while for my changes to go though to the main lists. I've been editing a private deck, and trying to get stuff removed as I am trying to test new things, but it won't actually update and remove what I tell it to remove.

This has been happening to me with any new decks I try to make.
The [[]] tag isn't working for this deck so I'll link it here:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/losing-feldons-faith-1/
Actual deck name is Losing Feldon's Faith!
Even if I try changing just one entry at a time in the edit page's deck list box when you hit save it rarely saves it. Even if it does, when you go to make the next edit and then save again you'll see that things you did 2 edits ago or more disappear as well. In other words it's not just the last attempted edit that messes up or doesn't take.

kengiczar i was able to add 10 demonic tutors to your deck. can you help me understand better what you are seeing that makes you think its not working
October 22, 2015 7:44 p.m.
Ok so just now as a test I added 1x Charging Badger to the main deck. When I hit save and it took me back to the decks page the Charging badger displayed properly as did the number of cards in the deck.
When I clicked Edit to remove the Charging Badger he was not present in the edit box, so I could not remove it. I figured it must have been dropped so I hit Save and when the deck page loaded, he was still there!

Hm, I swear I replied to this less than a minute before this post, but it's not showing up either.
October 23, 2015 1:18 a.m.
Ive been having the same problem for a day and a half now, about..
The changes I make to my decks and posts on tappedout dont show up for about 15-30 minutes. Really slowing down any progress. :(
I have no idea what could be causing it.. but its def recent.
October 23, 2015 2:06 a.m.
I'm using the 'edit' button at the side of the page and changing the decklist through the test box in the bottom right.
I may have done it too often (about 20secs - 1min between each change), although it still shouldn't happen.
October 23, 2015 4:49 a.m.
Having the same problem.
Edit changes only display like 6 hours after editing. Nothing helped yet.
Please fix your servers.
October 24, 2015 10:22 p.m.
thanks for the feedback the thopters are on it. when you go back to edit are your changes reflected?
October 24, 2015 10:24 p.m.
Nope, changes are not reflected. Even tho I added 20 basic lands, they do not display in edit or in the list, but they somehow work in the playtest. Also, if I cut some cards or add some new cards, those won't display, and if I go to edit again and make some other changes, previous changes are lost.

Still noticing this issue is still ongoing.
Any ETA of a fix?
October 27, 2015 1:01 a.m.
The problem went away for a while and started back up again about 5 minutes ago. My problem is the exact same as ------ and jonhydude and hellnoire.
I'll write down when the problem occurs as I go through trying to update my deck step by step:
Close current tab, open new tab, type www.tappedout.net, hit enter
Site pops up, click the humanoid icon and from the drop down click my name.
Click on "All Decks" on this page: http://tappedout.net/users/kengiczar/
navigate to "Cheaper Naya Agro" from this page: http://tappedout.net/users/kengiczar/mtg-decks/
On the deck page It shows the following:
Creature (23)
- 4x Abbot of Keral Keep
- 4x Flickerwisp
- 3x Loxodon Smiter
- 2x Qasali Pridemage
- 2x Scavenging Ooze
- 4x Tunnel Ignus
- 4x Vexing Devil
Instant (10)
- 2x Boros Charm
- 4x Lightning Bolt
- 4x Path to Exile
Sideboard (2)
- 2x Rally the Ancestors
Maybeboard (1)
- 1x Sulfur Elemental
- Click Edit from the left hand side of the deck page. Edit page loads properly with the same entries as on the deck page: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/cheaper-naya-aggro/update/
- Type in the following cards in the Main section: 3x Wooded Foothills
- Click "Save", this page loads again: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/cheaper-naya-aggro/
- Wooded Foothills successfully shows up on the deck page.
- Click "Edit" as I did in step #6. /Update Page loads again, same URL as in step #6.
- In the Main section of the /update page the 3x Wooded Foothills successfully shows up so now both the decks page and the decks update page remember it.
- In Main section type in the following (without the [ or ] of course):
- 3x Stomping Ground
- 3x Windswept Heath
- 3x Temple Garden
- 2x Arid Mesa
- 2x Sacred Foundry
- Click Save
- Deck page successfully carried over the additions: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/cheaper-naya-aggro/
- Click Edit again, edit page loads. Main successfully remembers changes.
- Add cards to sideboard:
- Click Save
- This time I did the last two steps in under 2 minutes. Each other time I was going about 4-5 minutes for changes. The decks page did NOT keep the additions to the sideboard.
- Click EDIT again
- Edit page still shows all of the lands I added as well as the creatures from previous steps. Does NOT show the edits to the side (Spellskites, rending volleys, rally the ancestors)

yeaGO, after I typed the last post I went out to smoke a sig, approx 7 minutes later went to deck page and the sideboard changes were reflected.
October 28, 2015 1:43 a.m.
Hey, the problem is still ongoing...
Will it ever be fixed or can I delete my Tappedout-account and go use some other deckbuilder site?
November 1, 2015 3:42 p.m.
I've been encountering the same problem and it's definitely a recent issue, I think it started with the playtest v2 release. Needless to say, it's impossible to rapidly build and edit a deck now, so I hope this gets resolved.

schmenge, some users have said they have solved it by removing AdBlock. I'm not sure why AdBlock would cause that, is that something you are using?
Also, can you try from an incognito window to see if the problem appears?
November 4, 2015 2:18 p.m.
I use uBlock (which is a fork of AdBlock) and just whitelisted the tappedout.net domain and everything works perfectly now. Ads aren't very pervasive or annoying on this site anyway so I'm fine with that. As a web developer, I'm baffled as to why that would be the root of the issue but it's a satisfying result regardless so thanks for everything, yeaGO.
November 4, 2015 5:52 p.m.
that's so weird! I'm very sorry that you can't use adblock, of course I don't prefer you use it but its pretty bizarre that its causing such a terrible problem with the site! I will do more digging but I'm glad you are able to continue using the site. thanks for sticking with it!
November 4, 2015 6:12 p.m.
I wouldn't go anywhere else, to be honest. Keep doing what you do, your site is amazing and impressively functional.
November 4, 2015 6:26 p.m.
So in case anyone GAF - I did some troubleshooting, and it appears that it's something that Peter Lowes Ad server list under uBlock Origin that seems to be breaking the site. Not sure exactly what it was, but when I disabled that one, I was still able to block ads (sorry yeaGO) as well as being able to instantaneously see the changes reflected in the lists.
I'll likely start going and paying for an upgrade soon - especially since I've got a bit more money coming in now, I'll make it up to you that way, yeaGO. But that might be a lead on where to go to see what they're blocking to break your site.
November 5, 2015 4:17 p.m.
Very interesting! Thanks a lot for digging this up. How the hell this could possibly be causing decks to not update is a very strange mystery. No problems here, thanks a lot for sticking it out and for the info.
November 5, 2015 4:28 p.m.
No worries. I was watching the filtering for another site that was acting up, and it appears that their adlist was causing the issues with them too.
Granted, I still don't have the flags back on my Japanese Jarad Dredge deck - or on any of the other foreign cards - but I can live without them, haha. The fact that I can update on the fly, and still get the flyout translations are the things I'm looking for the most.

I disabled adblock on tappedout and I allow all scripts. I can't get my decks to save my edits in any kind of consistent basis. I hope this is still being worked on. thanks.
November 19, 2015 7:14 p.m.
can you see if temporarily removing it entirely fixes your problem?
November 19, 2015 7:16 p.m.
contracrostipunctus says... #32
I tried your advice. It seems like it still works about the same rate as it did before. Maybe every 3-5 attempts to add cards it "sticks"
November 19, 2015 9:42 p.m.
Without adblock the ads crash firefox, with adblock the site doesnt work.
lol... I'm out.
November 20, 2015 8:43 a.m.
... still broken as hell. With or without AdBlock. Sometimes changes to through, sometimes they won't. Sometimes pushing re-fresh alternates between the unedited and frequently edited deck.
