Cleaning up Notifications/Subscriptions
TappedOut forum

I would like to start off by thanking everyone who keeps this site going and keeping it a great Magic resource. Heading off to college drastically reduced my ability to play in paper, and through TappedOut I'm able to share/collaborate on ideas and keep up (more or less) with the meta.
With that said, I have a suggestion that may improve the user-friendliness of the site. My notifications page (from the icon in the top right) is extremely long and cluttered. It would be nice (especially for those neat freaks out there.. don't worry, I'm sometimes one of them) to have a "dismiss" check box option. This would be similar to Gmail, where each email has a checkbox next to it, and at the top there are options to modify the emails that correspond to the check boxes.
I think a similar approach could be used with the notifications. I'm subscribed to so many peoples' walls and decks and such that it floods my notifications (hence my first suggestion). This would just have a delete option. While it has one now, it's extremely tedious to click the "X," have the page reload, and find where you left off.
On a side note, one smaller fix that I may suggest for the notifications is a way to ensure that the time stamp aligns with the corresponding post. If a notification is longer than a line, it disrupts the time column, making it harder to follow.
These are just some ideas, and I hope users will share their thoughts on this below. Thanks for taking the time to read!

So pretty much checkmarks...allowing for mass deletion.

I'm glad this makes sense and you guys agree. Is there anything I can elaborate on or help with to make this easier to implement, yeaGO!?
Pretty much, The Doctor. Do you think it's a good idea?

Yes. I have spent so much wasted time individually clicking delete on those.

I'm with you on all of this. Especially the part about formatting where you can't tell what time goes with which notification.

do you really want to clear notifications or should the site just forget ones that are old enough?

Sometimes I just look at a few of my notifications, and leave others for later. I'd like to be able to leave the ones I don't respond to but clear the ones I have checked out.
Maybe it's just something I do, but forgetting ones that are a day+ old or something could work too.

There are some really old ones that I actually like to keep subscribed to (ex. my older decks) so a selective deletion would be more optimal.

Not subscriptions. I agree those could use mass delete

To add to this, it would be nice if subscriptions listed as none (and isn't connected to anything anymore) could get auto-deleted (as far as I can tell these are generated when a deck is deleted.) In any case I do agree that a mass delete in general would be time saving, at the least.
