Custom Categories Ordering

So I cant help but notice that when you set custom catagories they dont show on the page in any specific order that I can tell. If there some method to the madness that I cant see? I would kind of think they would be listed in alphabetical order or something, as it would make the page easier to organize/read. I realize this is like, super duper low on the old priorities list of things to do on this site and all, but Id figure Id put it on that list anyway, lol.

I believe categories always sort so that the "height" of the page will be as low as possible.

FancyTuesday is right, and this applies to all categories. Basically it reorganizes itself so that the largest list is on the left and the smallest is on the right. The exceptions being are that the sideboard is always on the top right and the maybeboard is always on the bottom right.
