Deck Descriptions

I'm trying to think of the best ways to get upvotes on my decks. So, people of Tappedout, what do you guys think? What about a deck description makes the deck more appealing? Is it an in depth description of the mechanics of the deck, or is it a clever story? What do you prefer or enjoy?

good question. I think i've tried everything but i think the main thing is: be different. like, deck wise. We've all seen RDW, MUD, MDB, theres a reason they are top tier - but we've all seen them. So when we see something like.... Araganor 's burning storm, it's different! Its fun! Its something we can think outside the 'meta' for.

Im trying to get views on a deck i need help with, and all im doing (which gives mixed results) is helping others on their decks with my opinion, and then asking them to look at mine, with a link and all. Again, only about %30 of them actually do but yeah..

You might want to look at the articles on my profile page. One of them deals specifically with getting views on your decks.

Indeed, although I enjoy a good story, I vastly prefer to see a description on card choices and how people intend to win games, how they'll side. And somewhere in there layout the flavour for your deck.

What's that? No Flavour in your deck.... Wish I could downvote :P.

Huh, What?

Seriously though, if you want to have more upvotes try things like a catchy name, adding a video/picture to the description, wirting out reasons for card choices, etc.

I personally love to take a card nobody would ever think of playing and make it a focal point of the deck. Because who plays Akroan Horse , Codex Shredder , and Sedge Scorpion in Constructed? It gets even better if you make your description funny.

Spend time to make your description better. Upgrade your account. Nifty names. All are important. Just look at Solomon's decks for a sort of guide.

I don't really have much to add, the guides other users have posted cover all the bases better than I could anyway. I'll just say what I personally like to see in T/O decks. I like something funny, but more importantly something original. If you explain your strategy or sideboard strategies, that's bonus points. I get pretty tired of seeing the same deck 10 times, switching one or two cards, then calling it an original build. It's not that I hate them, I'm just less likely to upvote them. If it's budget, that's even better. If you feel like you really aren't getting the views you think your deck deserves, you could always grab some feature tokens, they tend to work fairly well for getting more views/feedback on your deck. Also, make sure you cycle at active times during the site's day, as nobody will see your deckcycle if you do it at 4 in the morning.

PS: I think you may have tagged my deck incorrectly Kismet.

oh dear, it appears as i have mislinked it.

Burning Storm is what i was meant to link to, again just a good example.

how do you make the card or deck you're talking about appear blue and clickable?

Put double brackets around the name of the card.

EX (without spaces): [ [ Storm Crow ] ] becomes Storm Crow
