DeckCheck.net Replacement?

As some of you may know, DeckCheck.net recently closed its doors.
For those of you who are looking to post tournament results, please check out the Top 8 Decklists section.
I went ahead and whipped up a system. Hopefully some tournament folks will like it. =)

I used it a lot.
Practically it was a site for all the pro deck. So once a tournament was over, the organizers or players could go there and submit the decks and ranking for the top x players.
It was very useful. It even provided all the stats (mana base, etc.).

That site was the only place I got competitive proven decklists from to use in my FNMs. If you could duplicate something like that here, that would be awesome!

I used Deck Check very often.
Deck Check was the best factual Magic based site.
The site had categories for Standard, Extended, Legacy, and Vintage (All competitive Magic formats). Subcategories for what deck it was. So for example, the Legacy section would have ever deck type from Affinity to Zoo. If you were to select 'Goblins', all Legacy Goblins decks that have been submitted would show up. Also as important, all deck lists listed what tournament they came from, and what place they came in.
You could also compare similar decks. For example, say you wanted to build ANT. Not knowing anything about the deck, you could look at all the lists for ANT side by side (In a spreadsheet looking format), and see the number of each card in each deck, and even see the average number of copies run by that deck.
A couple other nice things about Deck Check were that you didn't have to go slogging through pages and pages of threads to find out what certain cards decks were running. You could find it all in 3 or less clicks. You could also proxy decks as well.
A lot of people just used it to netdeck, although the site was capable of so much more. To prevent everyone and their mother from submitting decklists, decks were submitted mostly by Judges and TO's who ran the events they were submitting. This is important because no one wants to see 'Average Joe's' Jund list he went 1-3 with.
All and all, it was the a great deck building database because everything was factual and neat.

Thanks for your comments guys. Very educational.
So now my issue is getting ahold of TOs and Judges. Anyone know any they could point my way? I am eager to get decklist submissions here! If you or anyone you know is a TO and has any questions, please post them here or use the contact form.

I could look into getting decklists from any PTQ's and stuff I go to, would that be helpful?

Yeah, that would be super helpful. Let me know if you have any complications while adding them. thanks saith.

That site had some other very useful features as well, like -proxy the whole deck
-the "deck tech" mode, where you can see the whole deck with pictures of the cards, with multiple copies of a cards slightly shifted on the same pile
-print decklist in the usual DCI format (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=99312&d=1261575695)
-see all Top8 decks from that tournament + the number of participants
-an easy to use search function
For the later there are some improvements that you could make in your current version:
-Remove the "Search" field, searching for cards and names is enough
-Make a bigger field for the card names, maybe each card name in a new line
-Give the player feedback if he has misspelled a card name
-add a field to search for cards in the sideboard
-Even if it is expensive to have a NOT query it would be useful to give the players the option to exclude certain cards
-Change the Category field to Competitive X Prototype
(all the other information can be generated out of the selected formats) and add some information that gets displayed when you move with the mouse over the entries
-Most decks here have a rating of 0-5, so it isn't that important and could be displayed at the bottom of the list, the values should be initialized with 0 and MAXINT (not displayed)
-The monetary restriction is secondary for tournament players and could also be further down
-Selecting the formats is the most important preselection of the results and should be the first or one of the first fields. A hierarchic menu would be cool , where you start with
Constructed ->[Block->[all editions] / Standard->[all Standard formats] / Extended->[...] Legacy /Vintage->[powered /unpowered] / Limited ->[Draft->[all Blocks ->[all 3 combinations of this Block]/cube /other] /Sealed->[all Blocks ->[all 3 combinations of this Block]/cube/other]]
-The tags seem very incomplete and could be removed completely imo
-Having 2 fields for the colors seems unnecessary, since you might as well have a button with "exclude unselected" Or change it to
YES_MAYBE_NO
White [] [X] []
Blue [] [X] []
....
Since deckcheck was part of a bigger German magic portal that got shot down, another German site is currently trying to create the "official" successor of that site as well. While this makes you more or less concurrents, everybody would probably profit, if you would exchange the new tournament decklists every week or something. You can contact them here: http://www.hbtronix.de/impressum.php?lng=en
I hope that gave you guys a few ideas, eidolon

I can definitely add those features. Seems pretty sensible, thanks eidolon.
The main problem is I don't have any to exchange with them, at this point. Tapped is pretty huge in the casual community but not so much among TOs and judges. I need top-8 adders!

The people that are developing this new site wanted to use the CC license http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/for all the decks now and the rest of the code open source if the site had to be closed at any point in the future. It doesn't hurt to ask and maybe you could even help them with the experience that you have acquired with your site.
Another alternative would be to ask Starcity Games, who also have a huge database of tournament decks and in return add something like a "Check SCG for cards and strategy articles" in the description field of the deck.

Hi, Im one of the developer of www.deckcheck.org and I know my English is crap. We are two developers and a lot more which insert new and old decks. We are using the biggest part of the old deckcheck (30.000 of 38.000 decks) and especially in legacy just a few decks are missing. Since the beginning of the project we insert over 500 decks manually and over 2000 with scripts. We know the site is not really perfect, but we do a lot to improve the site. If you have criticism or suggestions for improvement, tell us please! Or if you have new or old decklists which are not insert, send us please! :) Only your feedback allows us to improve the site. Please help us! Contact: ICQ: 464592802 Email: [email protected]

Hi! We have also developed an alternate site to find your decks, you can see it at: www.mtgdicks.net. Hope someone finds it useful!

Seriously stop spamming my site. I don't come to yours and necro your old threads for cheap traffic. Don't do it here
