Does upgrading remove advertisments from the Tapped Out website?

I'd really like to be able to pay for this site with dollars instead of advertising, anyone know if that's an option?

Just use adblock if you want to get rid of ads. If you want to contribute to the site then donate. (or am I wrong here?)

I'd prefer people who like adblock white list my site :)

Yeah, I'm getting sick at sites blocking adblock.

True, but where else will the site owner personally request it? :P
I've been thinking about a $4/month option. I could add this to it.

You have a point, I don't know many site admins that actually personally communicate with their users... in fact, I only know of one.
Two, if you count my buddy who operates a server I have an account on and talk to every day :P

I like the model nexusmods.com uses. It's about $4 a month, with a few discounted longer term options. I bought the life time membership for $49. Their site seems much more expensive to operate because they offer unlimited downloads of large game mod files. I don't know how much it costs to operate a site like tappedout, and have no idea what effect it would have on advertising sales, but I think somewhere around $2.50/month would be fair to remove ads.

I know there is an adblocker that loads the ads and doesn't show them. Is that just ABP on Firefox or is there one on chrome as well?

So exactly how much is it to upgrade your account anyway?

Generally, if you've donated, you've pledged support to the site, so letting yeaGO keep TappedOut running is worth ignoring ads.

Originally they did, however I realized that would rob advertisers of the ability to get their message to the most loyal members of the site and that would be unfair.
I may come up with an option soon to let you turn off advertisements.
