I was just trying to embed a youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HG02ynmu7IY) into a comment and it says that it doesn't allow iframe / script tags. I am calling B.S. on that because right here and the actual decklist here have the iframe tag with a youtube video. Go down to line 1290:
and you should see this. Shout out to Ohthenoises for allowing me to use his deck as an example and free marketing.

yeaGO question mark? I really want to make a dragon ROAR...

Your last link is broken and I can assure you they still work in description boxes because I have a video myself but they don't work in comment boxes for awhile now. :3

script tags are kind of an interesting topic.

i have many thoughts about what to do about them, that's for sure. on one hand, they let people do fun stuff. on the other hand, they're pretty fucking insecure and can create all kinds of havoc if not regulated.

i thought about creating a registry for script tags, or allowing them more broadly but only for upgraded users.

for now, there's just too much room for griefing to allow them in comments.

The difference between your examples is simple: Scripts are allowed in descriptions, but not in comments, because as our glorious leader has stated, griefing.

Yeh, it's not a difficult rule. On your own personal stuff - ok. On public forums - not ok.

I just wish you had used my 8 rack deck rather than an obsolete project :P

someone could create a comment and it would go to the front page and they could basically hijack my site (for a few minutes until teh comment rolls off the stream)

...but still :P

i could maybe allow certain things like youtube links. somehow.

I don't think you need to enable it in comments. Mainly because of the autoplay feature that you can insert into video links, I would say that hypertext links do fine.

That's just a personal tick though.

I agree, hypertext is fine.

I'm going to be a noob here and ask; How do you embed videos into descriptions? Is a pain?

TwistedMoonlight Its not a pain at all, all you have to do (if we are refering to youtube) is go the video and look near the description of the video for share click on it then click on embed copy the embed link and paste it in your description and bam! :3
