Just set up a trade and got the message:

~ has accept your trade request.

To be correct, it should say "~ has accepted your trade request." It's nit-picky, I know, but once I see something like that I just can't un-see it.

You, sir, win. /hug.

At least it didn't say "you're." That would have been horrific. Also, if you need someone, I'm here for you. I know this has probably been a traumatic experience.

We are willing to pay what it takes to achieve greatness. I have altars if anybody would like to sacrifice him/herself for the cause.

How sharp is the knife? Serrated or not? These things matter greatly!

Mpz5 says... #12

Not if you take enough painkillers.

metalmagic says... #13

In honor of the greatly corrupted case of the West Memphis Three, I will say serrated.

I love that video. It pretty much defines my life.

Mpz5 says... #16

Serrated edges make a much rougher cut... can I request a straight edged blade for myself? I would be much more interested in supporting the cause if the substitution were allowed.

Oh, you grammar Nazis. You're so silly.

@landgrafb: "Just set up a trade and..." does not follow the rules of proper sentence construction. Nit-picky is more commonly used without the hyphen. "Un-see" probably isn't a proper word, and if it were, it would lack the hyphen.

Yo dawg, I put some nitpicking in your nitpicky nitpicking so you can be nitpicked whilst you nitpick.

Very true. This is all a form of dialogue, though, and dialogue does not always (and rarely does) follow correct grammatical rules. That is why it is acceptable. Sentence fragments here aren't necessarily wrong; they are just how somebody would speak in a conversation. Spelling mistakes, however, are ALWAYS completely unacceptable.

May 22, 2012 6:28 p.m.

But what if I spell it wrong when I say it?

If the subtitles correctly spell my words wrong, is the spelling incorrect?

Discuss.

Mpz5 says... #23

Have you ever tried to spell something wrong verbally? Unless you are trolling the local spelling bee then I suspect that the answer would be no.
