Help, custom categories not working.

I have tried using both methods listed in the formatting guide

example 1:

x1 Island # Land

example 2:

# Land

x1 Island

I also have the default category set to Custom categories but have also tried leaving it at it's default and then changing it to custom categories while viewing the list.

any ideas as to why this isn't working for me?

I think there isn't a space between # and island

You format custom categories with a space after the name of the card before the # sign and no space after the # sign (#CustomCategoryName):

1x Island #Land

1x Brainstorm #Draw

1x Cyclonic Rift #Removal
