How do custom cards interact with the deck builder?

Specifically, can you make a deck with custom cards, and/or place a custom card as your commander? I haven't been able to figure out how to add them. I did, however, figure out how to make a custom card and add it to the site (I made a proxy of an already existing card, Xira Arien).
Is there a tutorial for this somewhere? Specifically, I don't what/where my personal alter page is. I also don't know what an alter code is. (This is the first time I'm trying something like this and I have no idea what I'm doing) I apologize for making this so complicated.

Click on the file symbol in the header bar. In the top right of the opening window there is a button called "Alters" that takes you to the alters site.
There you can search for and add new altered cards. Each altered card has a code to be placed behind the card in the deck list.

I made a tutorial a while back, but I haven't updated it yet. I'll finish submitting the rest of the cards for BFZ and then I'll submit the cards in.

Xira Arien (the code is 2454, although I don't actually know if others can use it or not)
Hey I actually did it. Thanks both of you very much for your help, I greatly appreciate it. (Also, I never even knew what the folder icon did 'cause I never bothered clicking on it, lol)
Here's a link to the deck I was making. Just in case you're curious.

Please crop the card Legendxp. There should be no black border. It comes off as glaring in comparison with the rest of the cards on this site. You can leave the info text on the bottom, just remove the black border around the rest of the card.

I had trouble changing the art to the cropped image so I deleted it and made a new one. The new code is 2455. I noticed that the old one still shows up on this page even though I deleted it. Does it take awhile? (The old one doesn't show up on my alters page anymore so I think I deleted it correctly.)

Oh, that's sort of a weird thing with T/O. It embeds images whenever you link or tag. Instead of constantly connecting to an alternate source, it basically takes a snapshot of that source as it was of that time and glues it to the post.
In short, it recreates the entire code and pastes it new each time.
If you click on the edit button you'll be able to change the image without having to make a new alter.

Your personal alter page tells you how. It says this:
"To change the displayed art from a card to the alter one, copy the alter code and paste it next to the card name in any board. If you have only one alter for that particular printing, then using A is enough."
Please remember to fully crop and provide sources. When sourcing, present the source as a link with the link name being "Alter's username (alter's real name) site name". If you can't find any of that information, use tineye to see if you can reverse search the image. If you still can't find any of that, the link name should be as much information as you can gander.
