How Do You Post an Article?
TappedOut forum

Judging by the scarcity of articles on the site it looks like only a handful of people (admins?) are allowed to post articles. Am I wrong about that, or just missing something? And if that was an actual rule, it would be nice for regular old users to be able to post articles themselves. Perhaps separating featured articles with other articles so that the existing system is preserved but everyone can post? Again, I'm sure many people would like to post articles (rather than forum threads) about decks, events, etc.

Anyone can write an article. It has to be approved by an admin though, typically KrazyCaley. We can't have just anyone posting articles; having it filtered by the admins ensures that the quality will be greater than a typical forum post. Sometimes the amount of work that goes into an article becomes too much of a hassle for users who are largely writing for free. I've seen many an article attempted, then die after one or two installments. We're no StarCity or TCGplayer, we've got lives that get in the way. I don't enjoy watching articles die, so unless you can commit to a series of a set amount of articles, I think its better to leave it alone. Otherwise people get hyped, then let down.
I think that when an article gets pitched, there should be a set amount of articles, similar to a contract. Epochalyptik's Pandora's Deckbox Series is good because we have a known amount of articles coming. Once it ends, he has an option to explore more in depth as has been discussed, or leave it as is. Either way, it has a fitting ending, and won't leave us hanging.
I realize not all of this pertains to the question. But I figured I'd air out my ideas while I have the chance...
