How does Broadcast work?

I've been trying the new (to me, anyway; I haven't been on in a few months..) Broadcast feature for almost a week, and I don't know what else I'm supposed to do to actually get use out of it - i.e. actually get in contact with people who are interested in meeting up.
I've tried it both on my phone and on my laptop - here in my hometown of West Palm Beach, FL and last week in Atlanta, GA. I can see people viewing the broadcast, but out of over 200 views, there's been no response to join that I've noticed.
It could be that after looking at my broadcast, the viewers aren't interested, but maybe something else is wrong. Could it not have the correct location? If someone does want to join, how would they let me know? etc.
What magic spell do I need to cast to actually be able to get another person or 3 to meet up for some casual Magic at a local coffee shop or whatever? I'm considering Meetup.com, and preferably I won't have to be desperate enough to use Craigslist . . .
Thanks for the tip! Doing that helped me notice what at least one problem is: It still thinks I'm in GA, but I'm back home in south Florida.
I did a broadcast in Atlanta a few days ago, canceled it, then made a new one when I came back here. I even tried turning off then back on my 'location service' to see if it would reset in the correct location, but that didn't seem to work.
I could include my LGS as a venue, but really the whole reason I wanted to try using Broadcast was to meet people to play somewhere that was not the LGS (as no one there ever seems interested in casual - at best, I can get someone to agree to Standard deck-testing).
So, assuming I get the location thing fixed. After someone 'joins' the broadcast, then what? Does TO have a private messaging system yet to work out the meetup details with the interested party?

that's coming today but for now you'll get a notice that they joined and you can engage them on your wall.
seems like there might be a bug. go ahead and try and re-sync and then re-save your broadcast again.

I'm stumped.
[Note: for all of the following actions, I've performed them both for my smartphone ('droid) and for my laptop computer. *See below.]
I've turned off, then back on both devices;
turned off, then back on Location Services;
logged out, then back in to TappedOut.net;
used different browsers (Chrome, then Firefox on laptop - Chrome, then native browser on smartphone);
cleared all cookies for all browsers;
signed a deal with Nicol Bolas for my soul, and nothing has worked. No matter how I try to use Broadcast, TappedOut still thinks I'm in Georgia.
*Since I left my laptop here at home in Florida, I can't think of any reason why its location service would locate me in GA. Since I've used different browsers and cleared cookies on two different devices, my only conclusion is that there is a piece of data on TO's servers that is insisting that I am in GA forever.

we'll take a close look at this issue you're having, it is pretty strange. check back here for more updates.
a quick and dirty solution to this is to select a venue near where you are :)

I'd love to select a venue near me, but the closest one shown is hundreds of miles away in a different state. If I try searching for any near me, they are not found - even after adding one . . .
I think a good feature to add is to actually show what the broadcast range is. i.e. What does "in your area" mean? If it showed a map, gave a distance radius, or listed the range of nearby cities, I would know if I'm reaching the right local area.
Thanks for taking a look at it for me. I'll try it again next weekend.

didn't you mention a venue in the broadcast? i used to live in florida.
we'll be pushing a bug fix in a few minutes if you want to keep at it.

Yes, I mentioned a Florida venue, but only people in Georgia were able to view the broadcast, so it didn't help.

I've tried it with Chrome (laptop and smartphone), Firefox (on laptop), and whatever the native browser on my phone is.

Looks promising. I was prompted to share my location, then saw Florida cities I recognize.
It might work this time, thank you!

Can you tell me if the broadcast shows up in another browser? Not logged in?
June 28, 2015 10:07 a.m.
Right now, I see it while logged in via Chrome on both my droidphone and my laptop. When I get home later, I'll try it with Firefox on my laptop.
I'll check now to see if I notice it while not logged on.

i notice your broadcasts mention some LGS's, you should try listing those as the venue too. it will add to the places where the broadcast appears.
