Pretty much. If you look on the map near you, you can get other members that have put themselves on the map, and can send them invites.
It would be awesome if everyone used the map function, so it would be easier to find local members.
I keep waiting for the map to become mandatory. haha.

I don't think so. Although you could always create a meet and post a thread for it.
That might be an interesting feature... Having the Meet function automatically notify users with location information on their bios who were within so many miles of the event.

It's true, it can't be used like that.
Not until recently, did I know there were so many users in my area. More and more people have been using the map feature.
...Which is the whole key to that.

My understanding is that you can go in and create a meet event for other users to see/come to. There will be a marker on the map that has information for your meet, as well as for ones that other users have created.
