How to get points?

Currently i have just about 3000 points and am listed in the upper 200's as far as my rank goes. What i'm wondering is just what specific things affect this number? I comment on forums fairly often and give suggestions/comments on deck frequently too. Basically is there anything specific that effects points, or is it just general site activity? Just out of pure curiosity as i've never known what clearly effects that ever present number.

I wish they either made points invisible or just never told anybody what gets you points. Too many people are obsessed with rank on forum sites, and will be tempted to just overdo it in the name of getting more points.

You get points for "site activity" in the general sense of "The more active you are, the more points you get"

Devonin I don't really care about my points, just curious as to what their purpose are. Since i didnt know what their purpose was i didnt really see any point in them.

Tried and tested, I think its safe to say the easiest way to get points is to use the ((suggest:)) tagline when suggesting cards. If they're accepted, woo, point bonus.

Poor Ohthenoises. It's become you're de facto job to post that image in any thread of this nature.

I made the meme in the first place because of everyone asking about points. I'm second on the site and I really just don't care. I make comments here, I lurk there, I correct someone every now and then, I get in debates, I tell people when they are starting to get out of line. I just think people need to care less about their rank and care ore about helping others.

This is one of the reasons I'd like to bring player of the month back. (Yes I know we can't do the gift certificate anymore but a little recognition would go a long way to alleviate this "I made top 100! Woohoo!" business.)

I'd like a list of the top 100, but I feel like that would just lead to a bit of spam posting in an attempt to rank up.
