How to make username glow?

Oh boy, hope I'm posting in the right forum for this. I've tried looking up HTML codes, but I believe I might be formatting it incorrectly since it hasn't been working. Can someone please post the code you use for each letter, with indications of where to insert which color codes or text?

where you see text shadow input your hex code.

Example:
