its not easy. You basically have to already know or you have to have someone almost literally walk you through how to do it.

I have tutorials on my wall for Custom names though as they are far easier to learn.

I have a lot of free time at the moment. I'm willing to do it for you if you give me some colors to work with and a background image. Check out Pro_Noob's page (I did his), then hit me up on my wall if you're interested.

I just today started headbutting my user page, and it has been quite the learning experience. Here's what I've gleaned from the last few hours of inspecting elements and reading W3schools:

  • When editing elements outside of the bio section you're not using html, you're giving TappedOut an alternate Cascading Style Sheet (.css file) which overrides default rules. You use HTML to point to that sheet in your "Profile Text" by following the instructions here

  • Check out a CSS and get a feel for what you'll be editing and working with. While looking at other users' .css files I lucked into finding someone who was using a tutorial made by Blizzicane complete with comments. He may have a more recent tutorial file, but I managed to figure it out using this.

  • Now that you have a CSS file, or at least something to copy and learn from, you need to host your own in a way that the website can access. A lot of users use Dropbox to publicly host files, I used Google Drive, in either case you're going to have to set the "sharing permissions" for the folder you're storing your style sheet in to "public." If you need help doing that just Google how to set up sharing for whatever host you end up using.

  • I spent awhile pulling my hair out because neither Google Drive or Dropbox would willingly give me a link to the .css I wanted to host, rather they would give me links to view it. Eventually I tracked down how to do it using Google Drive with some help from Google Support. Doing so in Dropbox is covered in the link in my first bullet.

  • Once you have your .css file hosted publicly and your profile pointing to it you can start editing that file and the changes will show on your page. Be careful, I get the impression that you might be able to screw your page up enough accidentally that someone might yell at you.

FancyTuesday, dropbox does have links to direct it. It is called a dl link. Replace www with dl, and remove the ?dl=0 at the end.

Femme_Fatale: I know, it's explained in the first link I posted and I pointed to it along with the Google Support link, I just learned things out of order viewing page sources and by the time I got to that I already had Google worked out.
