HTML code to make name glow, change font etc
TappedOut forum

Hi. I just upgraded my account, but I don't understand how to do anything with the name except change color. I have tried inserting standard html, but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone able to help me get the correct code for chaining fonts and glow?
Thanks in advance!

I had to erase the code because it was causing the rest of your profile to bug out. But it's easy enough to retype; it's a simple Glow font tag with color=green and size=20.
Is this kind of what you had in mind?

Yea, something like that :) I just wondered what exact text should be typed in the box to get that effect, so I can later modify it. I assume i don't type "Glow font tag with color=green and size=20"...
Also, I wonder how to combine that with other effect such as colored letters, different fonts and so on.

The field uses HMTL, but the glow tag apparently gives us some trouble.
The text I typed is literally just
[span tag] style="color:white;text-shadow:green 0px 0px 10px;"[]letter[close span tag]

Hmm... Doesn't work when i insert that code in the letterbox for "R" (the first letter). I sort of want to use
Font: Matura MTColor: Fading from black to light gray over the6 lettersEffect: White text-shadow.

Something like this, then? (I don't know gradients off the top of my head, so I just did three pairs of grays).

I can edit that in for you if you like, or you can do it yourself. The syntax is
[span style="color:gray;text-shadow:white 0px 0px 10px; font-family:MaturaMT;"]R[/span]
Replace the square brackets with angle brackets and you're good to go. Repeat for each letter.
The color progression is gray -> darkgray -> lightgray (it seems awkward for gray to come before darkgray, but that's how the colors actually work).

I just tried, but the result was R">RR">aR">sR">mR">uR">s, which sort of looks odd :P
It seems to work in the forum and here, but not when I use it in the name. It would be very appreciated if you could help me adjust it :)

I've been trying to do stuff like this with no success. Where do you enter the HTML coding?

Only upgraded users may customize their usernames. If you're an upgraded user, you'll find the option while editing your profile page.

I am an upgraded user, and I customized my name's color, I just don't know how to add the text shadow effects and where to type the code.

In the same field that you customized your name. The text shadow is just basic HTML and is the same everywhere; a quick Google search should tell you how to do that.

Oh, so I got it right. I have done google searches on the subject, but nothing has seemed to work so far. I even copy/pasted an example into the text box, but still, no change.

I'm not seeing anything in your name field apart from the basic span tags defining the colors of your letters. Are you sure you applied everything?

I applied it, and then promptly removed it due to the fact that it had no effect.

Leave it in. The site doesn't immediately update everything. Plus it'll give me a chance to see if you're entering the wrong thing.

Apart from the size, I mean. I increased the font size to emphasize the shadow.

What exactly are you trying to do?
Glow doesn't seem to work (or you're formatting it incorrectly), but text-shadow does. I reset your name for the time being, but I saved your HTML code into your profile description.
