I know there was a tutorial on how to make the boxes that you click on that conceal information until clicked on, but I could never understand it. Would someone explain it to me in simple terms? I hate how long my descriptions look...

@ Epochalyptik you actually can. I had done it before I got my upgrade, but I changed over to the spoiler so I could edit my description more easily.

I was under the impression that you couldn't as of the redirect attacks. How long ago did you do that?

The change the non upgraded users can't use HTML was recently changed by yeagoo.

Regardless, I still cannot seem to figure out what seems to be understood as common knowledge in the accordion/spoiler thread. Do I use < > to set up the things, or how do I get them to trigger?

Trigger?
I would read up on HTML before you go implementing any of it. You really don't want to mess with anything like that without knowing what you're doing.

Unless you're talking about the accordion panel thread in Site Updates. Short code doesn't use any angle brackets.

As a non upgraded user you cannot use actual HTML you have to use markdown. If you look at this post it will tell you how to set it up.

Epoch, I understand that they don't trigger, but I was using the html brackets to try to set it up, and it wasn't registering. Trigger simply seemed a convenient word. And ah. That makes sense now.
Lord, that's the post I was trying to use, but I cannot figure out how to get the formatting to work. It either just shows up in the text, or it simply disappears without effect.

Wait non-upgraded users can't use HTML?
This is heresy

OK so non-upgraded users can use HTML. Are we sure it isn't scripts that basic users can't use?

You can't use a number of different tags. You still have access to basic ones.

I honestly cannot get it to work. Can someone screenshot the syntax of the actual code and send it? I'm apparently doing some sort of formatting improperly, and I truly need to hide the obnoxiously long descriptions of matches that I give...

That is a bit different than "can't use HTML". Is there a place where one can see the tags that don't work (or those that do if it is a white list instead of a black list). It would be nice to know, but if one must just use tags and find out if they work afterward that is fine.

Basic users cannot implement the HTML that drives that feature. Instead, use the spoiler short code listed in the formatting guide and in the Site Updates forum.
