Inventories and Deck Sync

Hello there,

Some issues have come up over the past week of feedback. I would like some input.

1) Use case: you archive your deck. What do you expect to happen with your inventory?

2) Use case: you un-check "inv sync" option on your deck. What do you expect to happen with your inventory?

3) Use case: you delete your deck. Same question.

For all three I would expect that the inventory would no longer show the cards for that decklist.

I agree to the above,

But would your inventory still show you own those cards?

Only if you actually have a number of them in any other field besides "In Decks". That's how I'd set it up.

But if you archive a deck it's not like those cards go away

I would expect for the count of "In Decks" to go down as appropriate.

The "Amount" would not be impacted.

I guess there may be a situation where you get rid of both a deck and no longer own any of the cards with it....or maybe you have a an inverse list add to inventory? (use a list to bulk remove cards from inventory)

does anyone disagree with that

yeaGO sorry if this is a necropost: To me what's odd is the sync button doesn't input quantities and in fact puts the quantities at 0. To that effect I've never considered syncing to actually affect inventory besides adding that card without quantity to it, I use the inventory tab to do actual edits, and so I've never considered that unclicking would remove the listing from the inventory or alter quantities and same goes for archiving. I have actually been making decklists, when I get new cards in large batches, and using the sync just to add the names of cards and set info. I then would go back through and look for "0"s and know that item needed quantity added. I do agree the only column I would expect to see quantity change by unclicking or archiving would be the In Decks one. Not sure if I'm using inventory properly or if that helps at all, but if it changes I think a bulletin like you did with the Ad Blocker thing would be nice.

Well, the sync is supposed to take the cards in your acquire-list and assume that you don't have them (they end up in your wishlist), and then the rest of the cards (in your side/main) it presumes that you have. Those go to the inventory page to the decks column. But yeah, I guess if you archive if you're forgetting about those from applying to your inventory. But it does seem weird because its not like you still don't have those cards. If the only place you had them was in some deck, then you archive that deck, those lines will go away totally from your inventory.

I agree with pretty much everything said here. The unfortunate thing is that when I add a deck to my folders, I want to be able to say "I have added this person's deck to the decks I play" meaning that I want my inventory to show the cards as being in a deck.

I do not know the best way to do this... maybe add a sync to inventory button next to the deck or maybe add a button overlay on the featured card image of the deck within the folder list? IDK.

I'm pretty confused by that feature request. You say when you add a deck to any folder you have, you are expressing that you own that whole deck? What if you are missing things? What if the owner changes that deck?

I think I now understand why it was done the way you have done it. I guess I feel like a copy-cat for copying net-decks as if they're my own, even though I give credit. I also thought doing something like that for every net-deck I buy would flood the database?

Sorry for the confusion. I guess I still don't know how to use all of the features to their full potential.

You can copy a deck and then set it to sync with your inventory
