Is it complicated to add a new format choice when building a deck?

It would be really cool to add the format "Quest Magic Character" or something like that in the format choice when we build a new deck. Just an idea. I'd like that, I could check out what decks players are using in the game :)

I think, awhile back, there was a thread for the "characters".
Might take some digging, but also might help avoid confusion down the road.

I was thinking QM needs its own format too... yeah? unless you want to advertise what format the decks along the way are?

but people can play their own decks too and they wouldn't want to change the format.

I like this idea of giving Quest Magic its own format very very much. :)

Askani28 yeah but what about people who just want to try their deck at the game? it doesn't change the format of their deck....

Actually it does. During the game there are a lot of new cards added to the player's deck, which can even become illegal for vintage. For example, a player could add 4 scrolls of Demonic Tutor
to his deck during the Dimir Infiltration sub-quest. Every deck also has items in it, artifact cards that follow special QM rulings. Some items even allow players to play with spells from a color their lands can't produce (which might make a deck seem unplayable at first glance, unless you know it's a Quest Magic deck). And players can add a Commander to their deck late in the game. In short, all decks in QM quickly become incompatible with traditional formats. That's why I thought it'b be nice to add one. Anyway it's not very important, it would simply be cooler. Just let me know if you decide do it! Thanks :)

Oh yeah, QM has its own format! Thanks!!!!! :))))
Short answer to your question: Yes, players can have a sideboard. Long answer: it's called the Spellbook in the game. It's also where players add their new scrolls (spells) when they find or buy them. But to use their sideboard and modify their deck, players must rent a room at an inn and rest, then study their spellbook like D&D mages.

yeaGO! I noticed you already changed all the pages of Quest Magic to the new format, thanks so much! I also noticed I no longer need to check the prototype box when the Quest Magic box is checked, that's great! :D

you can instruct people to flag their deck under the Quest Magic format
