Is there a place we can request card prints to be uploaded?

TappedOut forum

There's many cards I would like to upload, but alas I'm not an upgraded member and cannot.

Are we allowed to request cards to be uploaded? If we are, I'd like to request the printing Buried Alive from Weatherlight.

Now, if I become an upgraded member will I be able to upload old card printings like this one with ease? Is there a long approval process? Also will I also be able to fix already uploaded cards? (for example most of the Conspiracy set cards have black boards, rather than a clean cut cropped image, which I would try and fix when I have time). Thanks!

Tagging Femme_Fatale because she knows this sort of thing

You can request cards to be uploaded yes. Generally just make a forum thread and tag me to it in a post with all the different printings of cards you want added. You do have to be an upgraded user to submit card fixes, but only a select few admins (like myself) accept the submissions. I believe I'm actually the only one who works on the card submissions of upgraded users (which I'm perfectly fine with, allows for better quality control to appease my obsessive compulsiveness on the card image database).

Accepting a card submission is a long process, I have to cross reference each aspect of the card. I no longer give out warning messages if a submission is done wrong, I just delete it. I also can't actually see the content of what is being changed, only that a certain category is being changed. For example, it could say that the card cost, card image, and keywords have been changed but I have to actually check myself to see if these need changing. If there is a new image being submitted, I ask the user who submitted it to see the cropped image directly in order to determine whether or not it is up to snuff. However, there are a few accepted individuals that I no longer look at the submission form, I just accept them without worry.

The image itself is an entire matter in and of itself and is the source of my obsessive compulsiveness. I have a link to a long tutorial about how to submit a proper card fix on my profile, but since I cannot edit the post, all the updates to that tutorial are in the comments. Meaning, read the tutorial, and all the comments. Now I wouldn't be so stingy about this if there wasn't a month long wait for the list system to refresh itself to the current images. It is bloody well irritating and is the sole reason why I prefer to handle the database by myself, along with a few accepted individuals.

Hey Femme_Fatale I was curious if its possible to get the art uploaded for full art cards like Hive Stirrings game day promo.

Hive Stirrings just happens to be one of my fav promo cards and I hate staring at a weird black box when I hover over it. I tried putting in the [ 000 ] deal that it seems we normally use for promo's but nothing happens for this one.

If not, I'd also like to know if we can get the art for the Grave Titan (Dual of the Planeswalkers 2012 XBOX promo) uploaded?

There's been ongoing issues with the promo set for a while now.

I have no idea where to get promo images, so ask Duck_of_doom for that. I personally don't want to touch the promo set until there is an adequate method of organizing all the different types of promo cards, and I don't know enough about them to do that.

Thanks for all the info Femme_Fatale! So this is the correct area of the forum to post requests threads?

The only requests I have now are Buried Alive from Weatherlight.

And funny enough -MisterJ- already linked my second request above, which was the Duels of the Planeswalkers promo version of Grave Titan .

Thank you!

Yep, T/O is the right place to do them. Just wait for Duck or even Dritz to do them as I won't be able to figure out which promos are which.

Has there been discussion of doing more sets for multiple promos per card?'

My method is simple. Google it. But my guideline is to always search in wizards archive after promo cards. The main part of them can be found in articles and news etc etc. If I really can't find them there I sadly resolve to use scans but at least good scans(magiccardsinfo has dark but often high quality scans of promo cards). And yes VampireArmy there has been such discussion but the problem is that it would result in VERY many different promo sets. That could be confusing for users to find the correct one and it increases the risk of somebody adding a promo card to the wrong promo set. In the meantime the two promo sets with the abbrevations PSG and 000 is sufficient. I have fixed the Grave Titan promo and Hive Stirrings promo but I and Femme_Fatale are aware of the problem when you update a card image. An example of how many promo sets it could exist:

  • Release-cards
  • Prerelease-cards
  • Friday Nights Magic
  • Wizards Play Network
  • Gateway
  • Game Day
  • Buy-a-box Promos
  • Judge Rewards
  • Player Rewards
  • Player Rewards - Tokens
  • GP/PT Promos
  • Duels of the Planeswalkers Promos
  • Walmart/Target Promos
  • Magazine/Novel Promos
  • Arena League
  • Promotional
  • States/Champs
  • Junior Super Series
  • European Lands
  • APAC Lands
  • Guru Lands
  • MPS
  • Happy Holidays Promos
  • Special promo cards

Jesus...is there any way to combine some that have no redundancy in cards? I suppose not since for some they could end up adding a redundant card in the future

The only way to clear this up would be if yeago would implement the subsets I suggested a while back. He said it was fairly difficult, even after I suggested a method of development.
