Is there currently a way to tutor cards from outside of the game? How can I tutor for Lesson cards without having to put them in my deck?

What format? There are always the wish cycle ( Cunning Wish , Death Wish etc.) and Mastermind's Acquisition .

As mentioned, the wish cycle can do it in any format that uses a sideboard. Fae of Wishes and The Raven's Warning are ones that are legal in standard. They can all get you cards from your sideboard in formats that use a sideboard.

Also, the new "learn" mechanic obviously does let you put lesson from out of game into your hand.

If you are in green, Vivien, Arkbow Ranger does this as well.

In Standard, Fae of Wishes and cards with Learn let you tutor up Lessons. The only formats where you can’t tutor lessons from outside the game are EDH and other formats where sideboards aren’t allowed, such as Brawl (yes best of one on arena allows sideboards for learn-type tutors).

You don’t get to tutor an infinite amount of lessons though. Lessons and other cards you tutor from “outside the game” have to be in your sideboard (limited to 15 cards in most formats, except EDH-type formats, which allow no sideboard, and limited, where your sideboard is all of your card pool that you aren’t using in your main deck).

Everyone should take the time to read what forum a thread is posted in before responding. Given this is in the TappedOut forum, it seems rather clear the OP is asking "do wishboards function in the TappedOut playtester?"

As far as I can tell, there is not a way to do it. You can create a custom token and name it the card you tutored, then keep it in a corner of the battlefield to remind you that you wished for it... but that is not a perfect solution.

Especially with Learn coming into play, this is something yeaGO might want to look into. It would be quite convenient to have a button next to "Sideboard Swap" that allows you to draw cards from your sideboard into your hand, without having to reset the game.

Wouldnt it be simpler to just make the sideboard available on screen during playtesting? Just like your library and graveyard?

And any cards in it can be dragged to the playfield simulating the tutor effect?

For people not wanting to see it, there could be a toggle or checkbox.

Make it a drop down option like tokens. And it'll just generate the card into your hand. Just have to make sure that they don't get removed if snap-to-grid is enabled on the V2 playtester, like tokens do currently.
