issues saving EDH decks

Whenever I try to save my EDH deck, I get a message that says I can only have 1 copy of Forest . I know I'm sometimes late on discovering rule changes, but last I checked you were allowed multiple copies of basic lands in an EDH deck. Is the site messing up, or was this rule changed?

Every time I try to save an EDH deck it just says "You have encountered a site error, ornithopters have been deployed." and then gives me a facebook link to see if there are any details but I'm not finding anything there. Help?

Joking101, is there a source for this change? I want to know where to complain :l

Same problem here. Starting to get frustrating since I really want to improve my edh decks
June 27, 2014 5:59 a.m.
Yeah, I just got the same problem. The other thing I also got was an error saving the deck at 99 cards without the commander, saying it needed to be saved as a prototype in order to be saved. Just thought I would add my error list to the list, and tag yeaGO so he can see it.

should be fixed.
if you still get errors go to your deck and make sure it has a format specified.

I'm making sure the format is EDH/Commander, but it still keeps giving me this message:Errors You have 10 copies of Forest . In Commander / EDH you are allowed to have a maximun of 1 copies of each card. Check the 'prototype' box if you want to ignore this. When I try setting it to any other format, it just deploys Ornithopters..

Checked to make sure the format is right, and it was. Still running into the same problems yeaGO. The deck I am referencing is this one, If you strike them down...

yeaGO: That's got it fixed up. Thank you for working diligently on this site, and on this problem in particular. I do appreciate it.

@yeaGO I'm having a brand new issue it's saying I can't save my deck because there is 101 cards but I only have 100 listed. The only thing I did was uncheck prototype. A couple days ago it was fine I just swapped 1 card for another

yeaGO Not to sound like a dick, but I'm getting the same issue now :l I haven't even changed any of the cards; all I do is take off prototype, but it claims I have 101 cards instead of the 100 I actually have.

@ yeaGO Yay my commander is in the 100 card count. Without him it would be 99. Should I remove him from the main board of the deck?
June 27, 2014 9:20 p.m.
Same issue as fadelightningmm. I'm guessing TappedOut now expects you to NOT include your commander in the "main" box, only the remaining 99. Which makes some things look weird, since now in the main deck page it says you only have 99 cards in it. :/

Thank you yeaGO :) It appears to be all better now.

yeaGO, I'm getting this message when I try saving my EDH deck, Feed The Hand That Bites, with a 99-card mainboard, which I've been doing without incident for weeks.
Errors
- Pssst, check the 'prototype' box when your deck is under 100 cards for the format Commander / EDH (you had 99)
I've got the format set to EDH. I've only been getting this error for the past couple days.
June 28, 2014 10:27 a.m.
yeaGO, it's always saved as 99 mainboard, i assumed it counted the card you put in the Commander field. As I said, this is the first time I've had an issue in weeks and it's only been the last couple days. Isn't EDH 99 cards and a commander?
June 28, 2014 12:12 p.m.
Well read earlier in the thread... :P
Come to a consensus guys.
June 28, 2014 12:16 p.m.
I didn't list my deck's commander, Thraximundar , in my mainboard, but he appears in playtests, so I'm certain the decklists here include who you list as the commander on top of the 99 other cards listed in the mainboard (and that makes 99+1 = 100 total).
June 28, 2014 12:47 p.m.
As a test, I put Thraximundar in the mainboard to make 100 cards mainboard, and it accepted it regarding that (which still isn't normal compared to usual), but then gave me a new error regarding having more than 1 Island as previously discussed in this thread, so there's just something funky going on altogether.

For a long time it was pretty relaxed about including or not including the Commander in the Mainboard, saving with either 99 or 100 card decks. I've been not including them for weeks and saving with no problem, and I've seen others that list the Commander in the Mainboard. A few days ago it started requiring me to include the Commander in the Mainboard to save without the prototype tag. Yesterday it was flipping back and forth between wanting me to include the commander and saving without it, now it's back to requiring 100 cards.
Personally I prefer keeping the Commander out since the Commander is, by design, not in the deck, they start in the Command zone. But to each their own. Hopefully the validation logic you're adding in will allow users the flexibility to do either. Something that checks to make sure the Commander isn't in 99 card decklists, and is in 100 card decklists.

I'm with FancyTuesday, but like I said previously, even when I add in my commander to the mainboard to make 100, it still won't let me save as non-prototype because it then begins to error on the numbers of each basic lands.
Checking Prototype now seems to be the only way for the site to accept a perfectly legal EDH deck that was just fine a few days ago.
There's definitely some goblins stuck between the cogs.

I included 5 Plains in a Standard deck I made earlier, and when I just edited it, I just got this message:
You have 5 copies of Plains . In Standard you are allowed to have a maximun of 4 copies of each card. Check the 'prototype' box if you want to ignore this.

Why is validation being forced on a format which has playgroup-specific rules changes anyway?

I'd guess Drilnoth is referring to the fact that EDH is largely a casual format where some groups will eschew or augment the rules to their liking.
I don't really buy that argument though. You can ignore the banned list or decide amongst your play group to not play with cards not on the "official" ban list, that doesn't change the fact that EDH is a structured format with an authority that defines its rules. You can play kitchen table with 4 Ancestral Recalls and Contract From Below, that doesn't mean Vintage isn't an established and defined format with restrictions.
It's worth noting that Commander is listed on WotC's website. It makes sense to use those rules when defining what is and is not a "legal" deck.

I don't think yeaGO is questioning the rules of the EDH format, there was just some trouble with the validation coding logic (i assume).
Meanwhile, the problem seems to be resolved. Thank you yeaGO for your diligence!
Now for the lands issue I posted about a couple days ago and the goblins might retreat from their invasion of the website's programming center.

Actually yes, in EDH it has been changed to only allow one copy of each card. Including basic lands. This rule was changed after Island was deemed a bit too overpowered in comparison to cards like Forest and Mountain . So after some heavy contemplation by the EDH rulers, they nerfed Island by only allowing one copy in each deck. This was mostly to prevent mono-blue commanders like Memnarch and Talrand, Sky Summoner from being incredibly overpowered, especially after using cards like Caged Sun . I hope that answers your question.
