Making the mana symbols appear

So I just figured out today how to make the mana symbols appear (like so -), but I noticed that when I tried to make the blue symbol appear, it links to some 4 year old deck that seems to be abandoned (like so -U). So how do I get the symbol for blue mana?

it works for me. You must be doing something wrong. It's [ [u] ] (no spaces), you don't need to enter anything else.

I'm not sure how you messed this up, but you need to type symbol:U within two sets of square brackets.

[[symbol:W]], [[symbol:U]], etc.

There are several other symbols that this syntax can produce, including colorless mana, hybrid mana, Phyrexian mana, and planeswalker loyalty.

Ok, Yeah. I was just doing it wrong. I just put a -u- inside square brackets, I didn't have -symbol:u-. Sorry

The symbol button helps you out, although it is glitched at the moment in that it doesn't show all the symbols it used to, and the pop-up occurs in a weird location.

like I said, for the colored mana symbols you don't even need to type symbol. It's as simple as putting a W,U,B,R,or G inside of double square brackets.

@abenz419, are you using a capital u? That's what I was doing before (just the letter in square brackets) but when I did that, it linked to that deck.

Just use the symbol. Every now and then a user will create a deck with just the letter in it and it will become the default for the syntax without the symbol: for a little while. Then symbol becomes the default again.

that's a capital U and is a lower case u

oops... also earlier you said you were adding two hyphens, like -U-, that may be what caused your problem. When I put that into double square brackets I get an error but if I do it with just one in front then it links to this deck -u], which has nothing listed. So if you were adding in the extra hyphen(s) then most likely that's the problem.
