Map settings "sync map" not working for me

Hi there, I'm trying to do the "Add yourself to the map" checklist item but when I go to my settings and do Map settings "sync map" it says "Sorry, your browser isn't supplying your location:[object PositionError]".

However, when I look at Events the map does centre correctly on my location, so I guess my browser is somehow providing my location for that, but the "sync map" function can't get it.

My guess is that the Events map is done automatically with Google Maps, and they use my IP address rather than my browser and that in order for the "sync map" feature to work I need to access the site on a browser from a mobile device where my location will be built into the browser and can be supplied.

However, that's only a guess and if anyone has the real answer (or something I can tweak to make "sync map" work from my laptop - I don't have a smartphone) then that would be cool :-)

Exactly the same for me.
The event map has access to my location but "sync map" gives me the error - on both computer and smartphone.
