mass unsubscribe

TappedOut forum

Is there a function that allows me to unsubscribe from everything? I just hate opening up my notifications and seeing that Johnny commented on timmy's binder and then Timmy commented on Johnny's binder and so on. I've already gone and unchecked where it auto-subscribes (aweful idea imho) but I don't see a way to unsubscribe unless I do it manually for each one aaaand ain't nobody got time for that. Also, thank you to whomever (probably yeaGO) for finally implementing the +/- on the binders, it works great :)

I agree with panda. It would take too much time to go through all 97 + pages of subscriptions.

I'm thinking like a checkbox system that allows you the option to unsubscribe from certain things in mass. That way you wouldn't need to go back to your own page, or that one thread that you're following, etc.

A page that has all of your current subscribed pages would actually be pretty rad, especially if you could mass unsubscribe (as previously mentioned).

Not all of them, but i am still subscribed to this random forum post. I don't even remember.

Could there be something where after a year (or six months), you auto unsubscribed because there is no point in staying subscribed.

yeah its been requested before. kind of a boring feature but i'll get to it. =)

meantime you can pull up notifications hit subscriptions and then right click or shift click them into a new window and rapid fire remove. its kind of a fun game.

What if we add an option to purge all subscriptions to pages that aren't

  • pages we "own" (our wall, binder, threads, decks, etc.); or
  • pages that have been active in the past 14 days; or
  • articles

To improve on epoch:

Articles that you didn't write.

Eh, I'd say you can leave articles you didn't write. A lot of articles are geared toward discussion, and I don't necessarily want to lump those kinds of discussions into the autounsub feature. Besides, there should be few enough articles that manually unsubbing from them after running the autounsub should be pretty straightforward.

Just a way to unsubscribe all, don't care what it is. If I like it or want to keep track of it then I can comment on it and just relocate it at my recent comments tab on my page. That's at least what I'm doing now, my notifications are just too swamped with random bs. Not a huge thing, just a thought to improve the site's functions :)

It seems more complicated for the user to resubscribe to everything after a full clear than it would be for us to pre-set specific pages to not get cleared.

Users should never auto-unsub from their own pages, for example.

Agreed. Guess my main point is just that, to me, it makes more sense to have an auto subscribe rather than an auto unsubscribe but I do 100% agree with Epochalyptik that we need to be connected with our own pages.. we should just be able to make everything else disappear with one click is all :)

What about a little checkbox of like "unsub to all except: my pages, articles, active posts, etc" that you adjust in your settings so whenever you mass unsub it always leaves what you want (similar to the home page only showing forum posts of your preferred subjects).

Does that make sense?

That would be nice.
