Is there a way to make private messaging available from user to user?
Honestly? Yes, I do, because it's kind of a pain to relay trading messages and such...for instance, if player A, wants this, this and this from me, and I want that and that from him, you have to go all the way back to the message screen....It's just a suggestion, not sure what other people think...

Dunno if that made much sense, sorry. I mean that you have to keep backtracking a few pages back to see what the offer was, then to another page to see what they have etc.

I agree, it's pretty ridiculous that there isn't one considering how many people use the site for trading.

I'll give you that it would be nice to be able to work out trades without having to go to other users' walls. I just don't know if there's a simple way of implementing a messaging system. Forums like MTGS come with PM tech by default. yeaGO! would probably need to code ours from the ground up.

Well Epoch, this site is already phenomenal in every way shape and form...and I understand it be a lot of work, but holy shit that really would be awesome if you did!

Honestly, while I think it would be useful, I think that it should be somewhat lower priority. That said, the times when I would find it most useful are trading, and I rarely do that here. Also, I would still want to see their binder and/or my binder while typing a message regarding a trade, so it wouldn't help all that much. And people usually move to e-mail as they get close to an agreement. Maybe if there were some way to get the "Share your email address with people who you have pending trades with" feature working...

I would honestly say that rather than adding another feature. Why not improve the already existing trading system.
adding in a trading request system that actually lets you go in and add cards from your inventory (maybe even that automatically removes them from your binder once they have been added to the request) and submit them to another user for editing. Who can then add/subtract cards until both users are happy. Having a comment system integrated. Then once both parties are happy, the initiating party can approve it.
Secondarily I would like to see accountability in the trading system. Elect or ask for a volunteer(s) who are extremely active on the site and have admin privileges. Then have a function that allows users to report an issue with an ongoing trade. That person could temporarily suspend an account if a specific user has repeatedly neglected to keep their end of a trade. And also to remove trades that have been cancelled etc. That way it keeps off the upper admin's back and makes things run smoothly.
Just ideas

Yeah, I cannot count the number of times I have seen someone ask how to remove a canceled trade form their binder. And that trading request system sounds pretty good.

It seems like there are a lot of people asking questions, and only one or two people who ever have the answers. I feel like if certain people fulfilled or took charge of roles for different parts of the system, and they had a direct line of contact to the upper admin, things could be solved a lot more efficiently, and leave the upper admin to work on big things.

I would keep the trading system the same, but I would want to be able to send a message WHILE looking at someone's trade binder....

You already can do that can't you? Depending on if the user takes the time to clean out the messages in their binder, you should only have to scroll down a short way and there is a place to type your message right there while you are on their page. I'm not sure how much better than that it can get for what you are saying

Well, if someone has a huge trade list, it isn't that easy, but it's not a huge deal, was just an idea...

I would prefer to avoid trade drama whenever possible. I don't really want this to turn into MTGS, where there's a bad trader report every week or so. We have very few problem traders, and I can warn or ban them without bringing the issue up publicly. Once trade disputes are brought to my attention, they take time to research, and I have to look into both sides.

I don't know how difficult it would be to add. Do you think there is a need for one?
