Modern format primer handover
TappedOut forum

Hey everyone,
Im looking to leave magic at the moment but there are quite a few things i am in charge of in the community that id like to pass on.
One of those things was the modern format primer. Which needs love at the moment and editing etc.
If you are:
An active user
Trustworthy
Highly knowledgeable about modern
Proficient at spelling and grammar
Then i would love to hand the primer over to you.
Id do this via google docs. Its currently around 40 ish pages i believe. I think the current primer 404s due to a syntax error somewhere but I'll brief the interested user in more detail once they've accepted.
Essentially youd be in charge of this huge site resource that needed constant updating but like... i promise its good not bad?
Anyway, hit me up below if youre interested.

This is basically what I do all day...just tappedout...I'm still learning about modern, but I have learned a great deal. I would love to be in charge, but I do not know if I am regarded as proficient enough yet.
In other news, why is it you are leaving magic? (I agree with TheDevicer...it is indeed sad...)

Didja hear? The Sun that is Modern is falling out of the sky.

Wizards banned Twin and Summer Bloom, which is bad because Twin was the Gatekeeper of the format, keeping the competitive scene in check as far as draw go style control decks and a handful of bad combo decks. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If no one else wants to, I'll take it over. I have a few things that I need to take care of IRL first, but I'll be more active after this week ends.

I don't have the time to "take it over", but I'll happily contribute to a section or two.
Just a point about the grammar/spelling, does it have to be England English (as opposed to American English?).
January 16, 2016 1:19 p.m.
Can be American English but it has to broadly make sense and look fairly smart. Maybe you want to help xzzane?

Yeah, no matter how much I want it, xzzane will always outclass me...maybe I can help a little?
January 16, 2016 1:36 p.m.
Well of course you can help! It's not a closed access thing, it's collaberative. It's just that someone has to own the actual google document with all the text. Someone needs to be in charge of the original.
January 16, 2016 1:37 p.m.
I'll gladly be in charge of improving this if I can. And I will of course need help with specific sections; I'm no master of every archetype of modern. I'm sad to hear you're leaving magic chief, but I'll do my best to keep your modern primer up to date.

There's also the matter of cycling it and updating the deck itself, since you can't really "give a deck" to someone. Zane could obviously copy the content, but 300+ upvotes helps the recognition around the site and those will be gone.
January 16, 2016 6:45 p.m.
Yeah I know the upvotes will be gone and it's sad but that's life sometimes.

This... actually upsets me. Like, a lot. You are an integral part of Tappedout. Just.. ugh, my brain hurts.
I'd be willing to write the occasional primer. I know a few decks pretty well.
January 16, 2016 9 p.m.
So yeaGO if you could essentially give xzzane the deck that is the modern format primer on my profile, and remove it from me then that would be great.
xzzane if you could then copy it onto a google doc and share it with me we can go through some edits when you are free.
I'll copy the edited version onto the static page because I have privs to do that. Or I guess you (xzzane) could share the format primer google doc with yeaGO or some other solution could be found. That's the least difficult bit though.
January 17, 2016 12:40 p.m.
I could definitely do that. As soon as it is transferred to me I'll put it onto a google doc and share it with you and yeago. I will need yeago's email though for that to work though.
January 17, 2016 1:56 p.m.
Well yeago doesn't have to be involved with editing the static page by copy and pasting the google doc inot it. Like it's just depending on availability and whi has the privs to edit that kind of stuff. If I had to do that part for a little while it really doesn't bother me. I will kind of stick around tappedout a little.
January 17, 2016 1:59 p.m.
Oh ok. Well even better then. And I'm glad to hear you'll be sticking around a little longer at least.
January 17, 2016 2:04 p.m.
transferred ownership and gave you both flatpage perms in case you want to update the site page.
January 17, 2016 4:29 p.m.
Thanks! Though I can still see the deck on my page.
January 17, 2016 4:41 p.m.
yeah having a problem with bracket counts on that description
January 17, 2016 4:43 p.m.
Yeah! I need to go through and have a look. It's my fault really.
January 17, 2016 4:54 p.m.
its a pretty annoying error on bigger texts though, thinking how to make that a nicer time

Highlight the issue or add in something to our dictionary in that [ or ] is spelled wrong and should be And?

Best of luck to you with real life sir ChiefBell. Hope to see you return! :)
