Oldschool Printing Mode (suggestion)

How hard would it be to implement a feature that allowed you to default your decklists to display the original printings of each card? I find myself spending a good deal of time doing this manually on most of my decks because I cannot stand the aesthetics of these newer treatments, which Tappedout always defaults to. It would be super sweet if you could just hit a button and have your deck display with all the OG printings instead. And it seems pretty easy to implement, though I'm no coder. Just a thought?

I like this idea. I’m in the same boat as far as where the direction of the newer card designs are trending, and manually selecting each printing for each card in a deck feels like something that might be able to be streamlined.

We could probably go one step further now that more frametypes and holo stamp have been added for data.

A default to oldest/latest printing with the given criteria:

  • Specified Frame: (Original, modern, M15, Extended, Borderless, Poster, Futureshifted etc)
  • Specified Border: (Black, white, silver, gold)
  • Specified Holo-Stamp: (N/A, Oval, Universes Beyond, Acorn)
  • Specified Treatment: (Normal, Foil, Promo Pack, The List, Etched ... etc)

Would require some testing to figure out how people want to use it as from here I don't think having only one criteria set would be enough.

This has been implemented, there's a Default printing selector when editing decks that let's you choose Oldest as the default printing.
