Play Tester Freeze

TappedOut forum

Does this happen to anyone else? I will be using the play tester and it will freeze. Most of the functions stop working like tap, un-tap, card info, etc.

Is it a browser thing? I have tried Firefox, Chrome and Explorer. Explorer has been giving me the best results (least amount of freezes) but it still happens.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sometimes it fails to load?

ChiefBell - although I know what your talking about this is not the issue. Typically I will be 8, 9, 10 turns in (EDH playtesting) when suddenly I can no longer interact with the play tester as normal. I can't move cards from hand to battlefield or battlefield to graveyard. It seems very strange to me, I wonder if it has something to do with the number of turns or 'actions' done. The reason I say this is because the problem never presents itself in the early/mid game. Out of curiosity what browser do you use to playtest?

Whenever I move a token to the graveyard or exile, the play tester freezes. Not sure why, that's just how it works..

Try it out, play test a game and make a token, drag it to the graveyard, and then check it.

actually, i just tried a quick game and it didn't freeze, but that had been the last thing i did before it froze numerous times, i didn't make any plays this time however, just clicked make a germ, then dragged it to the yard and i could still function, I'm gonna try playing a few turns then the token to the yard thing, i still think its the culprit.

Well after much attempts at trying to make it freeze/lockout, I can't lol, it was a few months ago the last time I used the playtester on here, and since then it appears to have been worked out, if your still encountering bugs/glitches try to as accurately as possible transcribe what was happening before it froze, as I was pointing out, I had recurring issues with making/removing tokens causing the playtester to freeze/lockout, as far as I can tell that has been adjusted and fixed.

Ok, maybe it is a particular sequence of events. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has had this issue.

Thanks.

For me it always happens with tokens. Try this, the nest time you would move a token to the graveyard use the 'exile' feature instead. Since I started doing that the play tester never freezes on me.

I think the heart of the issue lies with dragging a token to the graveyard. But, I think you need a certain number of permanents on the field or in the yard before the freeze occurs.

After testing, you are absolutely right. I'd qualify that I've had similarly stable results when I press the graveyard, hand, or exile button when you click+hold on the token cards. Kind of a pain, but better than ruining a complicated playtest

Now if they would just fix it. :)

I would also like to see the token images fixed - most show up as a black card - the tokens appear for some of the cards that produce tokens like Heliod, God of the Sun and add a generic 1/1 for all decks.

But it is hard to complain about something that is free.

I can reproduce fairly regularly on Chrome.

You need a token. You need to be turn 5+. You need to have 5 permanents on the battlefield.

Double-click the token for details. Allow the image load to fail. (Doesn't work if your token actually renders correctly.)

Now drag token to Graveyard. ERROR! Game frozen.
