Playtest not working?

This probably a really dumb question but I am new around here and I can't seem to get playtest to work.
I made my deck but have found that the playtest doesn't seem to care if I have the mana to play something or not. It also doesn't put me against any kind of simulated deck. I can tap any card at any time whether I have the mana to do it.
Is it supposed to be this way? Is the point to just give a player a general idea of what I kind of starting hand they would get and how the cards would synergize?

You can also have two different decks in different windows, and playtest them against each other.

Most playtesters or even programs that let you play against other people do not have rules implemented in the program. Only Xmage and MTGO do that. It requires a very hefty amount of coding in which is something most players should already know from experience.
That being said, it is illegal to have the function to let users play against other decks. This is just to goldfish your deck and see how it functions before needing to buy it.
