Primers?

TappedOut forum

I understand that on certain MTG websites, a 'Primer' is an official thing, and you have to prove to the site organisers etc. that your deck has enough information to call itself a primer.

Can anyone use the Primer tag on tapped out?

I believe that TappedOut has a loose policy on primers. Any deck that provides an in-depth analysis of the deck can be considered a primer. I could be wrong, but as far as I know anyone can use the Primer tag.

We don't even have a primer tag. Not an official one, anyway.

Places like MTGS have much larger teams of admins than we do, and there are a number of people dedicated to things like primer curating. We won't have a system for that sort of thing.

Yeah, it's really up to user discretion here. You want to make a primer? More power to you. You can ask around the site for other players for help or you can check out existing primers for inspiration. xzzane does a lot of work on primers. Maybe he can give you some HTML code if you're up to the challenge. Epo also has a primer on primers on his profile, I think.

Well the HTML code I use is largely based off of Epoch's primer primer; I have limited knowledge on coding.

The primer tag was created so that you can search for decks that have primers more easily and so that people don't have to put "(primer)" in the title of the deck (though a lot of people still choose to).

The actual quality of the primer is not controlled, so nothing you read here should be taken as gospel. But that's up to your own discretion.
