Probably A Dumb Question But...

Alright, how does the trade binder on this site work? From my understanding, you input cards you have and cards you want into the site, then people message you or something if they see something they want. You then proceed to send each other cards in the mail right? What if your recipient doesn't send you anything?

That's exactly how it works.
If they don't send anything, then.... You lose :(
But, it rarely happens that the other party doesn't send anything. There is a voucher system in place, so you can see their successful trades and those who have vouched for them.
Basically, play it safe and trade with those who have traded often and successfully.

Epochalyptik is a forum moderator (among many other things) who has guides to trading on his page. there is also a generic guide a believe at the top of your binder once you have set it up.

And as vampirelazarus said, just don't be blind about what your doing. you are trading goods of unknown value to a person you can't guarantee will be there.
I started trading on here maybe 2 or 3 months ago, and I honestly haven't had a bad experience yet. once you can set up a binder, be patient, maybe make a trade forum post, and try and do some small 10-15 dollar trades, nothing worth too much. make sure you are courteous and forthcoming with information. lots of people, including myself, have specific ways they like to trade or how they want cards shipped, and those need to at least be attempted to be honored if you want to keep a good reputation on here. Everyone starts out at the bottom, and everyone has to send their cards first a few times before people are ok with it. once you start understanding how it works better, you'll be giving something like this speech to some other noob who's just trying to get his foot in the door.
Once you have a binder set up (if you are actually able/going to make one), feel free to check out my binder. I have no problem being your first trader, assuming you have things I want :3.

Then you are screwed I guess. But I don't think, that it happens a lot of times :)
