Promo and Alter-art Symbols

As I'm getting back into the trading scene (or at least trying to), I've noticed the hassle it is to type out all of your promotional/altered art cards in the description of your trade binder.

Would it be useful to have an "A" and "P" (asterisk on each side) for alter-art and promotional respectively in addition to "F" (the foil indicator)? Maybe one to indicate a condition other than NM (a general case)?

I definitely think something like this would make trading much easier. On a related note, is there some way we could try to differentiate between promos/foils etc where it lists people who have your wants? I, for example, am looking specifically for promo Lightning Bolt , but my binder lists anyone who has the normal version. I know this is a specific case, but there might be other useful applications too.

can any card be a promo? Isn't that just a different printing (the promo set is 000)

altered. yeah.... altered.... hmmmmmm that's a whole nother beast. but I can certainly add the flag now. it obviously won't show the card :P

Yeah, I like the idea of the alter tag. And for promos, we do have the promo set, but the "people with this card" feature doesn't seem to care about who has what set.

Remember that time i did it.

ok, so what about promo? is it really a flag or is it a set like we have now?

May 17, 2014 5:33 p.m.

Well of course :P But it could have some overlay like the foil one to emphasize it? Or nothing. I've also never realized the promo thing... Does the site automatically put "F" after a card from set 000, or do users do that?

I will get confused with this and just ask the user, but it could save a step. Also, does the site display the most recent printing unless specified (like if a old card got reprinted in something like FTV 20)?

Just trying to help make this a little simpler, but it might just work in my mind :P

I'd prefer a flag. BUT that could be cleared up. Will a promo only be displayed if it is called with Set 000? If so, that'll clear up my confusion at least.

If a card is altered, it may be a good idea to simply post a picture of it in your description (or at least provide a link to a picture) since anyone interested in it would want to see it anyways. That alleviates the need for an alter tag right there.

alter tag was done 10 min after the request.

As long as we're on the subject of binders, yeaGO!, is there any way the binder match function could be fixed? I can't get it to work. It just says:

Matches

Generating...

... and then does nothing.

I really enjoyed the feature as it made finding the cards you wanted a breeze.

Not any card can be a promo. There are generally three promos per set, plus special event and Judge promos.

So what's in 000

000 is where we put the promos, since they don't go in the set they were printed with, since they technically aren't part of a set, and many aren't printed with a set.

We do have the issue of cards with 2 different promo prints.

000 is basically just to house promo images so people can use them in binders, decks, etc.

It has no significance as a set or anything.

Do we have a way to differentiate between different promo printings of the same card? I don't remember how many there are, but I think I made a list of them when the promo set first went up, and I think there may have been an addition since then.
