Screw Tappedout's GLITCHES!

I CAN NOT edit my new deck anymore. I can "edit board" but not edit deck anymore.
I spent like 2 hours looking up cards to add to this new deck and when I go to save the deck it asks me log in!!! WTF.
Then I click log in and it tells me I am logged in. So I click back to my edit page to at least copy my card list before refreshing and sure enough the log in page loaded over it. Now all those unsaved cards need to be looked up again. goddamit..
Screw that dude. I'm so annoyed.
Yes I know this is "General." I just want a Tappedout employee to see it ASAP so they may fix this glitch before it happens to another user. No complaining about my posting here, not until this issue resolved.
Alright, signing out until it lets me edit my deck. (can't link it, conveniently it's set to private :P )
dude, i know this. That is EXACTLY what I did. did you read the complete description?

Doesn't change the fact that the page probably just expired. Next time, you should just put it into a text document, then copy/paste.
Also, this is in the wrong section.

It really sounds like you're just spending so long on it that it's logging you out. The alternative would be to just copy and paste it into a word document so you don't lose anything. You know, most people would repeat the same action over and over again if it never got them anywhere.

Basically, you had the classic word document go unsaved, but in this case a website that timed out before you could save the work in progress.
In no way is that a glitch.

It sounds like tappedout is working differently than normal for you - especially since it is saying you can edit things without being logged in. It may be a glitch as you described. It could be a change in the time it takes for pages to time out or that you are using it differently this time in some way. One way you could avoid looking up cards over again in the future is to save your work first in a text file as sylvannos described. I know that I was concerned about something like this happening so I started backing up all lists with text files on my home computer after my first month or so of using this site (because I didn't encounter what you described but I did encounter numerous thopters and other unexpected challenges / barriers that required work-arounds so it seemed likely that this kind of thing could happen - call it what you want). I'd also recommend changing your password - I don't know that this is an issue - but it might be an easy thing to try that doesn't take anyone else's help / input to do. :-)

Yeah, as a general rule, I avoid working on my decks at 4 in the morning. But on topic, I have heard of the already logged in glitch before, but never concurrently with something like only being able to edit board and not edit deck. As other people have said, using the back button should allow you to get back any text you entered into the page you lost. And also, as others have said, save early, save often, and consider saving externally. I tried using Excel for deckbuilding once so I could have custom categories and do cooler stuff with the curve and manabase and what not, but I decided that it was more work than it was worth at the time. Though if I had actually set it up properly I could have used it as a template. May be something worth looking into. Anyways, enough of my rant, I should really be asleep as should most of us here, depending on time zone. Good luck finding all those cards again. Maybe check your browser history to find the decks/gatherer pages you looked at to save some time?

so, this is what happened, in order...
i clicked save and continue
was asked to log in
clicked back button
was asked to log in
logged in
clicked back button twice
was asked to log in
became furious
went to try and edit deck after logging in (and it saying i already was)
asked me to log in (thoughts: mother fucker)
logged in and told I already was o.0
tried to edit deck
SAME THING
tried to edit board
Tappedout: "No Problem, let's take care of that for ya!"
Thoughts: "I hate 1st world problems."

Not sure why you thought posting this in the "general MTG discussion" forum would get an admin to see it sooner than the "Issues directly with the website" forum, especially since you didn't tag yeaGO! or anybody else.

I'm sure it was infuriating but to an outsider it sounds like the kind of thing you'd laugh your arse off watching on TV.

That's weird. With the amount of time I've spent on here (I've become a lurker T.T) that has never happened to me. I leave this tab open about 24/7 and never heard of this nor time outs. Though I too encounter the autolog out thing. Guess that is the time out these others are talking about lol

YES! It let me edit the deck again!
- I am so proud of that little button, in hung in there and fought the log in bullies!

The only thing you've accomplished by posting this to General instead of TappedOut is mildly annoying me because I now have to take the time to move it. We have a site forum for a reason, and trust me, the people who can do something for you check that forum often enough.
Anyway, the login glitch is known. You just need to be patient and give the system some time. Refresh your browser, clear your session/active logins, etc. What you shouldn't do is switch rapidly back and forth between the login page and something else hoping it will stick. Give the system a second.

That's not a glitch that's the page timing out. You can just hit "Save and Continue Editing." Then, if it times out, you just click back and it will refresh, keeping all your data.
This isn't unique to tappedout. It's something that goes with just about anything that allows users to upload data via the browser.
